I love the 33 but you wont find me going 140 in one

bwd 03-18-2014 06:02 PM

He must mean 94 on the trailer with his TomTom on.

Craney 03-18-2014 06:49 PM

Nice boat, but how hard will it be to find parts for those rare 502s!!

If it's truly 625hp each, shouldn't be far from that, should it?

pinball 03-19-2014 11:05 AM

Have you looked into the '92 in Texas? Wondering if anyone has seen it in person.

looseconnection 03-27-2014 05:05 PM

Starboard inner header looks like it got hot at one time. FWIW

I see a period between specs and 625hp, so it reads like 625 actual hp to me, but I'm sure as hell not going to put stock in internet grammar. ;)

AJ POWERPLAY 03-27-2014 11:35 PM

The 625hp 500EFI kits are advertised by Ateco out of IL

pinball 03-28-2014 12:24 PM

i guess i agree your correct . i think most of are on the same page the boat in its lifetime was once clocked at 94 . no way those things are pushing that boat 94 reading between the lines thats all . those are old motors. I THINK ITS A NICE BOAT AND IS ON THE MONEY.

I'd have to see it in person to fully agree on that, but it appears to have potential. Was hoping someone had seen it in person. Would be really interesting to hear what a survey would tell on the hull and motors.

pinball 03-28-2014 02:39 PM

he has such a long story and all about trailer redone no pics of those old bravo s and no engine work done. prob needs a lot of work . at least money is not crazy. he s real.

IMO, price is gonna have to come down a bit for it to be cost-effective. But the market is pretty much saying that already.

Now is this one one of the older style powerplays, without the deeper cockpit and cabin? What year did the freeboard get higher? I hear a project boat and it gets my gears turning, that means it is something that I can probably afford to get into

The Powerplay owners on here are much more knowledgable than I am, but I believe they went deeper in '94 or '95.

AJ POWERPLAY 04-16-2014 03:59 PM

1995 and newer have more freeboard, they raised the X dimension in 99 and again later but not sure when. Mine is a 2002 and shorties wouldnt hurt.

They raised the freeboard (hull side knuckle) 4 3/4" in 1994 models (amongst other modifications). In 1997 they raised the x-dimension 1 1/4" due to the development of the low water pick-up of the Bravo drives. Where did you get the info on raising it again? From my understanding 1997 was the last of the hull modifications.

AJ POWERPLAY 04-16-2014 10:45 PM

Powerplay Jay can probably give better info then me, but even though the hull was unchanged i believe they raised the X dimension on later models.

AE Stream 04-17-2014 01:00 PM

Does anyone have any pictures or any idea on the size of cabin for this power play? Or how the cockpit compares to 300 checkmate or 35 fountian?

TeamSaris 04-17-2014 02:06 PM

When we were rigging our boat we talked with Dan W about x-dimensions, he said they are all conservative on the pleasure boats, even the last few built. Mostly because of Prop technology

AJ POWERPLAY 04-17-2014 06:45 PM

Thats for damn sure... Need shorties in a bad way
