I read something about that recently... said that the kid had just bought it a few weeks prior. Messing with structural integrity is never a smart move.

Why would you take a deck off to install motors?

They didn't. Going off memory they were paid to install new motors and also fix some damage to the boat at the deck/hull joint(incorrectly). They denied repairing the deck.

i believe that is correct and family trying to go after powerplay and now the auction co or dealer who sold the boat to the kid who died with his girl and future mother in law .there are articles if you just play around google powerplay boat crash article and pics

I know they were going after the company the allegedly did the hull repair. I was able to find the article.

Just curious, what kind of hp were your 572s making?
