scarab63 09-30-2015 10:40 AM

Transom, stringers, bulkheads, transom knee

scarab63 09-30-2015 10:44 AM

Floor

kakarot 09-30-2015 11:10 AM

Baffff I'll stay away then from them damn out of luck

Nicolas 09-30-2015 11:48 AM

Anyway , it seems to me that it was not a 1998 hull .....obviously before they raise de hull as my 1993 cuddy , low profile hull !!!! without transom drain for cockpit !!!
I have also notice a very poor design for the radar arch !!!!

So you were ready to or did book a flight to go buy this thing? Then you found out there's wood in em and " baffff " ?????
Do your due diligence, find one, get a survey if you don't know what you're looking at, and you'll have a solid boat for many years regardless of the wood.

Pretty much every boat of in that price range and vintage will have wood. Maybe look at Marlago's ??? I'm pretty sure they are wood free even the older ones. But less fast, more fish. Nice looking cc regardless. .....9' beam I think??
A lot more of them on the market too. Might work for you?

Ocean hawks are wood free also I think? ??? Not 100% on that one. Not a lot of them f.s. used though. There is one up here f.s. that pops on c.l. from time to time but the guy is smoking grass with his price. I looked at it. Not even sea worthy, or running he wanted 39. Step back 20 feet and squint and it was a bad looking boat. Ocean hawks have nicer lines than powerplay in my opinion.

Lots of boats started to go wood free in the mid to late 90s. There isn't like a single source list anywhere so you have to inquire about each brand individually. All marlagos are wood free as far as I know. Early 2stroke boats can be bought around 30k. Later 4stroke boats are atleast double.

I got a decent deal on my 01 that was repowered with suzuki 4 strokes. But the 4 stroke boats seem to command so much more that you could buy an early boat and repower with suzuki 300s for less.

It sounds like you're cool with 2 strokes though. There was one on the FL west coast last year that had 300x on it. That's the only one I've seen with them, haven't seen a 300xs boat. The X is faster and thirstier and that boat could probably go 70mph setup right. He wanted $70k which is too much imo. The buyers have spoken and they generally demand 4 strokes. Good luck.
