28 Powerplay OBs
Steve/Ed.....i figured i would aak the experts
I have what i believe to be the one or two 28 PP's with the factory outboard packages. Originally fitted wth 2.5 merc's, she now has 300 pro max merc's. i am considering repowering due to the age of the pro max's (although they still run great). Do u think that hull could handle 350 or 400 merc's and not upset the weight/CG? i truely believe Powerplay trailblazed the outboard sportdeck deaign way before this outboard revolution. This is my second PP and i always loved the brand - classic lines race boats under the mask of pmeasure boats with impecable quality. Any thoughts (good or bad) are will apperciated. |

Agreed Chris.....the pro max are a bit thirsty and have expensive taste (91). Do you still have ur 38?
looks like Ed and Steve my have gone radio silient. |
cool having 1 of the few factory o/b 28s
the 300 pro max motors are a very dependable motor with good torque for a 3.0 for the heavier well built powerplay wave crusher they are thirtsy over 4k rpm reasonable fuel drinking if cruise 3500 window the ecu adjusts fuel curve from the tps and map sensor below 4k after 4k they run mainly on the fat fuel map i just did a resto and conversion on a 32 hustler and used tripple 300 pms for the reason of the good torque and dependabilty as i run 50+ miles away from my trailer at all times in the bays and gulf with 34 props and 3500 rpms im cruising 62-68 mph window and that 6mph flux is depending on water conditions for trim and tabs and fine with the fuel consumption 5k on well she drinks,,, as stated a pair of 300r would be a great upgrade over the pm not bad on the wallet over 400,450,500 ,,,,and lot lighter on the transom the 4.6 ltre would have great hole and midrange put up a pic of the 28,,,, |

Here's my 28. |
Being a lifelong OB Vee bottom guy, your 28’ PPs are like holy grail!
I looked at a couple of 33‘s which I have lusted after forever, but with previous power you needed triples to get one to run the way that it should and I will not do that. With the new 450R’s on the market though, you would have one bad mammer jammer! |
thats 1 good looking 28 u got there,,,

thanks. i got to give some credit to Chris H. The boat originally had the classic pp colors. Chris gave her a good update.
