Re: 270 Laser Top End With Single 454 Mag?
For the record
GPS 65MPH EVEN @ 5200rpms Flat water half tank two people. Hydromotive 4blade prop. Dyno results were at 514hp 510tq at 5200rpms at the crank. |
I just searched 270 prop test and came accross this thread. I see that most people are saying that their lasers came with a 22p prop from the factory. I bought my boat used with a 3 blade Quicksilver Mirage 23p prop and I was told that was the factory setup.
I have the 502 efi motor and I can barely creap out 58 mph on gps on flat water. I usually have half a tank of gas and anywhere from 2 to 6 people. One time with a full tank of gas, 8 people and 2 foot chop I was able to get to 63 on the gps which I dont understand. I was thinking of going with a 4 blade 24p but after sifting through this thread it looks like people were having good luck wtih the 22p prop. Any thoughts? Please help! |
270 Laser Top End 502 Mag
I have a 1996 270 Laser with a 502 Mag, 100% Stock. Trimmed out right, 1 to 2 foot chop... 65.4 mph best case (5,000 RPM). 27 pitch 3 blade prop. That was running south on the Livingston channel. Normally run the boat about 3600-3800 RPM at about 40-45 MPH.
Not too much junk on the boat, normally run about 1/2 fuel. That was me (260 pounds) and one passanger (150sh pounds). That is according to 2 different GPS not Speedo. When I do 55 on the GPS the speedo says 40. Oh yeah, boat is for sale as well. Not just a selling point! If anyone is looking for a flawless 270, I have it, no BS. It's listed on Craigslist (Detroit). About $5,000 less than most others, less hours, and 502 vs. 454. |
