Re: New Gauges Installed

See what this website does! Cost you more $$$$$$$$. And you thought it was just a place to gather info...... But lets face it buying the boat is only half the fun. Making it yours is the other half.

Dock as your finding out it's pretty much a no brainer on the prices. I had a chance to run the boat a little saturday and the all seem to read about the same as the old one. Speedo I noted was about 2 mph slower than the GPS , but my old gauges were about 2mph faster. I'd prefer the faster as no one else but me can see the GPS :D :D

also watch ebay, I picked up a twin set of Livorsis with GPS speedo for 500 shipped, so the deals are out there if you look.

I now have a purple wheel and white Kiek controls and that made a huge difference as well
good luck :drink:

I'd love new throttles with trim-in-switch - can't believe how much I miss that from my '99. But I'm not going spend over a grand for throttles, just makes no sense on my boat.

You can just get the bolt on trim switch for about 80 bucks. Instead of getting new controls

Better yet go to Dana's website and they have the dual white switch on clearance for $29.99. I put one on my last PQ that was without and was a piece of cake. Look at it this way dock you can order the new gauges at the same time and save on shipping! What a deal!!!! It's pretty said when when you can make some nice additions to the boat for less than what it will cost in fuel to run around for the weekend.

Here's a picture of the gauge upgrade I did in spring of 2001. I added Gaffrig (Red Line series) now Livorsi gauges with red bezels. I bought from Trenton Marine. Next on my Christmas list is a new Red Dino steering and some new cup holders.
