Hey everyone my name is Chris im from Kenosha Wi, im looking to get into a different boat this spring. Finally got my wife talked into a 25 to 27 cuddy. I really like 96 to 98 formula 272 or 257 legends but worried that we couldnt put the kids on the tube with that style boat.
Also wondering how much fuel im looking at for a day 6 to 8 hrs of cruising, anchoring and tubing. I have a 5.0 in my sea ray 21' now thats not bad at all. The boats ive been looking at have mostly have a 454mag or 350mag in them. 350mag i think would be underpowered in a 25 to 27 boat. Price range is no more than 30000. Any advice would be great....

A 257 or 260 legend will be more in your price range. It will be harder to find that new of a 272 for $30K. You can easily pull kids tubing behind a 257/260. The 454 MAG is the perfect motor for that boat. Fuel burn cruising will not be bad at all...even better anchoring! :ernaehrung004: You will most likely burn more fuel tubing than you do today but I think you will find it acceptable. We pull the kids behind our 26 every once in a while. I have no idea as to fuel consumption while doing so. We have a 454 Mag EFI 385 hp and it performs very well. WE have our for sale also as we are moving up to a larger boat. Here's a couple pics.

FastFoward , very nice PQ i actually thought u sold it already, I showed my wife the pics she really likes it but i would still have to wait to spring to do anything. But if u still have it let me no for sure.

I agree with the K4M and FF assessments. Tubing is no problem. Would not go with a 350 Mag, not enough grunt and will hurt resale.

My guess is the PQ will feel a little roomier, both are safe buys IMO.

We had it sold, or I thought. Matter of fact I had two other buyers that had a great deal on interest,but the guy that was buying ours strung us out for a bit and by the time contacted me that he could not get the financing the other two buyers bought boats. We have found a 29 that we wanted but until the 26 is gone we'll have to wait. Honestly no big deal. I've got it back home in the drive and the more I look at it the less interested I come in selling it. Lets face it , it's a very affordable well handling performance boat. And built like a brick house!
