Hmmmm, Interesting about the hook. I was not aware of this. Perhaps it's a good candidate for a blueprint and take the hook out?
|
its not a hook its a rocker, its there so the boat does not purpoise.
you dont want to remove it. |
Take a good look at the location of the hook. I think you will find it high up on the bottom and might not be in the water at 70 mph. I'm not positive about this, it's been a number of years since I put a straight edge to one.
I did a lot of testing with a 260 and a 600 Hp engine. Top speed was low 70s on GPS. It's a drivers boat to keep it from chime walking at that speed. |
I don't beleive the rockers are in the water at speed. I thought the were put in more to help with the planning, but I could be wrong. There fairly large and I'm not sure they could be removed with causing some structural issues.

Can not get
Can not get to 60 full of gas and 3 people aboard. 502 mpi. Gps.
how are you people getting more? |
I've got a 29 PQ running 78 mph and I believe that the "rocker or hook" or I'll just referred to as "the tail end of the boat" is still in contact with the water. I have a terrible video of a fly by I did and even in that vid it looks like it's still in the water. Mine will chine walk too above 60 ish. I'm getting better at controlling it but still have a ways to go. To some guys driving with chine walk is second nature. They don't even think about it.

Friend has a 260 496 MAG HO. Can only get 63 out of it. Prop didn't seem to matter. 23p 3 blade, or a 24p 4 blade. What prop are you running?

You need more prop. Should be able to spin that motor to 5K. One of the props i mentioned above should be about right.

how are you people getting more? Which do you have? the 257 or the 260? It matters. One has a step, the other doesn't. Thanks. Brad. |
