Vyper step pad question
 

Was thinking about machining an aluminum plate to replace the plastic step pad next to the rear seat in the Vyper, Does anyone have access to take a digital picture with a couple of dimensions because mine is in storage for awhile yet. I was going to install rubber pads in these and get them anodized as well if anyone is interested.

Ever come up with anything? I'm holding a 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" plastic pad in my hand It needs to be purple!

I made mine out of star board, cut the grooves with a table saw, routered the edges and the soaked them in dye for a week.

It may sound cheesey as hell but the Rit Dye method works well and its dirt cheap. Ive used the process on rifle parts before.

Exaaaaccctly, and the longer they soak the deeper the color gets(to a point)

If you are wanting to dye a light color piece "white" with a very dark colored dye i.e....purple and you dont want your piece to be overly dark, you may want to check it every half hour or so to make sure it hasnt gotten too dark.

It's amazing just how porous starboard is and how much dye it can soak up if you let it, mine were purple(99 Vyper was teal, purple, black) so the purple came out pretty close.
