Hydromotive Quad IV Prop
 

Just wondering if anyone has tried one of these of there 26? I talked with a guy that has 6.2 in his 26 and he loves the prop. Was just hoping to talk with a few others that may have tried one before dropping the $$$.

I have two of these props that i used for my 27 and they definitely lived up to what they were! If your interested, I can get on the phone with Tom from Hydromotive plug some numbers together and see if it will properly work on yours. I can no longer use it because of the bigger engine package I have upgraded too.

I did talk with someone at Hydromotive last week. What size did you have and do you still have them??

Tom is the owner at Hydromotive & I personally know him and his wife. Before I bought the prop from him we did a sea trail. Tom dialed in the prop exactly to my combination at the time with the 454. I will contact him and see if maybe we can get it to work with your 260. It is a 19 pitch I believe.

Fast Forward, I called Hydromotive today and Tom is out of the office until next week. I will talk to him and see what he says about using my old 4blade on your 260, if you are interested. I was keeping it around for a spare but it isn't really any use, way too small of a wheel for me.

What size do you have?? And is it the newer round ear style the Quad IV-X?? I'd be insterested if it is.

I think it's a 19 pitch and yes, it's a quad ivx (or at least 90% sure). Not sure about the round ear. I will have to get actual hard specs on it from Tom when he returns from vaca.

Sounds good. I'm sure a 19 will be to small. What power did you have in the 27 when you ran this propr?

Paul.. any idea how that prop would work on my 270 with the 502?

Hmmm, I will have to check. I know one thing, 4 blade props give out this grunt growl......sounds daaaym good when your cursin along! You can go to their website and check out the sound vids.

Maybe, the hp that I was running is a tad closer to your 502hp rating output. See below:

Sorry for the delay. I spoke with Tom today and he says really all we can do is just put it on and see what happens. Indeed it is a 19 pitch we did use and at the time I had a light modded 454 running 460hp and was hitting speeds of about 62mph.

Hard to beleive you were spinning such a small wheel at 460hp. Based on my conversation with them I should be running a 21p. More than likely when I return from vacation next week and pay uncle sam what I owe him, I'll order a new prop. If you were a 20p I maybe willing to give it a shot but at 19 thats pretty small.
