Back from Miami!!
Donziman, PQVyper340 & I rode in the new Donzi F2 race boat. WOW, 72 to 84 MPH in 3 to 4 footers with 5 guys and 1/2 a bag of gas, and the ride was nice and dry. If I had a drink, I may not have spilled much!!!! I don't think the driver had a chance to really bury the throttles either!! The HRPA had a really good time down there. I have over 100 pictures in the camera, some of them are when we rode in the F2 boat. I think one of them will show just how fast we were going. Just pray that I kept the camera steady enought to get the pic.
The PQ booth was rockin. Met with Pete Basica and asked about a 100 questions. Trust me, you will be hearing alot from PQ soon. One thread here was about better clothing, it IS coming. BUT we had to wait for PQ to get 2 new boats introduced. One was a 280 Suncruiser, looked sweet. But the show stealer was the new Revenge 300. Kinda like a 280 on steroids. I will try to post pics to this new OSO board. Note the GPS tattletale speedo!! BTW, Fri night at the Florida Powerboat Club party, we were talking with: Larry Smith (as in Larry Smith Scarabs), Steve Simon (Donzi Marine. . .you will hear more about this guy in the future), Bob Teague, Freddy Keikafer (sp?) . Donziman2 had some great conversations with these folks and I'm sure he will relate them. The OSO party ROCKED too! Met C-Spray, Catmando, Deboatmon, Jeffery, Steve (board god 2), and SO many others. Nice to put a face to the names. More to come as I sort it all out. BTW: That's PQVyper340 in the pic. He is looking at the windscreen on the 380 Avenger, wishing he had his painted in mulitple colors. See the look on his face. . . .****! :D |

AWESOME PICS BILLR!!! Thanks for posting them. Powerquest sure is making some tremendous strides (not that they weren't already towards the front of the pack). I love their new graphics packages.
|
Bill, nice pictures.
Send me your others to my work e-mail addy ;) Jeff |
PQ had the Red edition 300 at the Grand Rapids boat show. Man what a sweet boat :D If I wan't such a bonehead, I would have brought my camera and took some pictures of it. I looks like the hull is painted the same but the interior is done in red instead. Very nice indeed!!

Bill nice pics. It's pretty neat to see PQ useing them flashy colors finnally. Makes me want to go out and buy a new boat.
|
Bill,
Did you happen to snap any pics of the 280 Suncruiser? I love to see that boat, compare it to the 320. Boatless Mike |
Boatless (papa) Mike,
I thought I snapped a pic of it. But appears that I didn't. There are two other digital camera that I am going to get pics from (other HRPA members) and I will post them too. |
Bill, how'd you get a ride on the Donzi?
Greetings everyone!
I went to the Donzi booth(of course, just before closing on Thursday!) and they kinda gave me the brushoff when I asked about the F2 boat, like they didn't want to do demos with the one at the Marriott-maybe they were already booked up. Saw 'em running it Friday at 11 am , was that you, Bill?? We got a ride on the 46 Black Thunder, I gotta admit ,they've come a long way with those things, but I'd rather have the flat deck version. I was pretty impressed with thespeeds they're getting out of the Poker Run Edition, must be those Arneson rocker tabs and the new Merc Integrated Steering/extension box setup. Mine only runs 78 with 28" props and a bit more weight I'm sure!! I still like a windshield ,however:D. I have pictures of the show posted on my webshots site: http://community.webshots.com/user/boathead38 in the miami boat show album. Check out my next boat(dream on), the 70' Buddy Davis:cool: A real ship with real iron MTU/Detroit 16V's 1480 hp each. |
