22 Raizor - Muffler Removal

I just bought a 22 Raizor. I am wondering how I go about removing the mufflers that are on it. I took a look at them the other day and there are no screws or bolts of any kind visible except for the on bolt inside the pipe. When I bought it the broker said the owner added them so I figured they would be easy to remove so I did not think to ask them how to do it.

Any help is greatly appreciated...

Pics would be helpful. Are these a slip-on muffler? Not sure I've ever seen one that attaches with a single bolt located inside the muffler.

I will try to get some pics of them soon.

Any chance this Raizor was bought in Harrison Twp. at Lands End

I had a 99 22 Raizor. It came from the factory with mufflers on a MPI 7.4L.

They looked like the ones in the "Transom.bmp" pic in post #8 of the "Couple questions for 38' Avenger owners" thread.

I have no knowledge of how to remove them. But it seams almost everywhere is cracking down on boat noise.

Good luck.

Ah, if those are what he has then now the single bolt in the pipe makes sense. He wants to be able to gut the muffled factory tips. Not sure it can be done but even if it could it is a bad idea as then there would be nothing to prevent water reversion since it is an angled tip and you could not install a rubber flapper once you gutted it. I would remove the tips altogether and go with a straight-thru tip with a built-in stainless flapper if you want it to be louder. Corsa makes a nice set as do many others.

moxxy...I did get it from Lands End.

The pipes in the picture of the 38 Avenger transom resemble mine from that angle. So those are factory installed mufflers? Guess I will need to get new pipes then.

I almost bought that boat.

Runs beautifully. I think it needs a different prop though.
