Default 290 Enticer Kenwood Radio

Hi,

New to the forum and really enjoy it. I just purchased a 97 290 Enticer. The removable face on the radio is missing does anyone know if there was a factory stock unit in 97? If so what was the model it is pretty hard to access the unit.

Not sure if you are saying you want to access the back of the radio, but in my 2000 Enticer you can access the radio from the locker. The top panel drops down. Recievers are so cheap now I would just buy a new one, that way you have a plug for a ipod.

Agree with new receiver. I also have a 1997 290 Enticer with a Kenwood receiver and it is a POS, actually in the middle of replacing it and adding a 5 channel amp. In the locker you just need to remove the top panel and then it is easy access.

The screws will be somewhat hidden into the carpet at the top. There should be a hanger at the back of the radio for support.

Agree with the above, chucked mine as soon as possible. Dropped in an alpine with remote. There is a false ceiling in the cabinet...

You can snag a high quality receiver these days for $100-$130...I just bought a sony from circuit city today ($129) for a jetta that was 4x52 watts, remote, extra pre-outs, built in ipod controller, aux input on the face, and free installation.

Does anyone know if this is the same for the Avenger? Trying to replace mine also and can't seem to find the "false ceiling" you guys were mentioning.
