trade in

Just curious for those who have traded in their PQ's, what did you get for trade in value vs what the boat is worth. I want to see how bad I will get hit if I trade in.

pkspx 09-05-2008 05:26 PM

A friend of mine was gonna trade a '01 27 PQ @ Lake cumb. marine for a 38 PQ and they gave him 40,000 for his on trade

Slick02 09-11-2008 07:06 AM

In the S.E.(Fl. to be exact) they didn't/don't bring much due to a pizz poor dealer network with not much exposure compared to Donzi etc.

I thought I had a pic without the cover on haha but oh well.

I posted these pics to get a feel from you guys what you think I can get out of the boat if I trade. I am also considering selling by owner.

pkspx 09-18-2008 09:07 AM

Anyone???

Mentalpause 09-19-2008 09:50 PM

It all depends on what you are trading for, and how much money the dealer can play with. You can show just about any number you want on trade. If you are buying something that the dealer has 50K to play with, they will probably show you and outstanding trade number. Change that to a boat they only have 20K to play with and watch your trade go down considerably.

I just sold my 1999 280 / 502. Immac cond. 240 hrs. End of season and the market is brutal. Some guy on ebay tried to convince me to take 17K!! Jerk. Still gave it away. Since I'm in NY, no one knows what the hell a PQ is. Even tried to trade it on a car. Dealers wouldn't even give me a low ball offer. Wound up selling it out of state.... Good Luck

Great time to buy though

Slick02 09-22-2008 02:25 PM

Educated guess in real money is probably low to mid 30's if you find the right buyerand the boats as well equipped as it appears, and as the season winds down, that's about to be a lot more difficult.
A suggestion would be to either clean or replace the steering wheel (looks nasty in the pictures) and repair the rear seat where it appears to be pulling at some of the seams. To get premium money right now people are expecting exceptional quality/value.

Not meant to be offensive, just stating the obvious flaws I saw in your pictures.

hp500, we loved the boat, sad to see it go, only 237hrs!! with 2 kids playing travel ball every weekend, we never used it. Maybe in a few years we'll be in the market for a clean 31' Sonic...:D

hp500efi 09-23-2008 10:40 AM

Slider, sounds cool. What State was it sold to? Anyone from OSO?

slider1 09-23-2008 12:07 PM

South Carolina. Nice guy...not a ball breaker. Don't think he's on OSO. How's the Sonic??

hp500efi 09-23-2008 03:47 PM

Sonic is great. Not the fastest out there low 70's but solid as a rock in the rough. It is reliable as are the motors.

The Sonic drops like a rock coming off plane vs the PQ stepped hull that felt like it was skipping across the water.

No complaints from either boat.
