2000 viper 340
I am thinking about trading my 93 Scarab 31 for a 2000 PQ viper 340 but I dont know what the PQ is worth. The boat has 270 hours and it has 502 motors. Are these good boats or am i better keeping my Scarab with 454motors and 500 hours? Also how was the quality of the 2000 PQ? Thanks in advanced.

Always good to trade up, but in reality the 340 only has 30 foot of hull in the water. Not sure about the 2000 model, but my '02 had a 3' swim platform and a 1' notch in the transom. Twin step. It was a fast boat for it's size and weight for sure.
But you won't find a boat of this size with more cabin space. I loved it! Ran the chit out of mine for 5 seasons on some very rough water without any issues other than typical Merc stuff. I was very impressed with the boat overall. As far as value....it's a buyers market. Look at listings on all boating web sites you can find. And go down from there... |
Tanks for the reply. The 2000 Viper that I am looking at is in mint condition. The thing that bothers me is that underthe rear seat the floor is wood and not fiberglass like the rest of the flooring and the panel behind the back seat is wood rather than fiberglass all the way across. I have heard that PQ had been cutting corners and wondering if this is one of the ways or have they always been like that.
