depth sounder

I have a 2000 PQ290 Enticer and my lowrance 3500 depth sounder no longer works. My question is can I mount a puck style transducer to the bottom of the bilge or will it need to be drilled in. Is it just a solid fiberglass hull with no core? Thanks for any help you can give me.

you have a balsa core hull.

Does that mean a transducer won't work right if glued in the bilge compartment? If so, that explains why mine doesn't work once I start moving............:angry-smiley-038:

FalconHunter, welcome to the site :)

where are you from, where do you boat?

the 290's are great boats.

boatnt, how do you like the 300 vs the 290?

Drill it out to the outer layer to install the transudcer. Dont forget the mineral oil!!

Thanks for the welcome. I am in Texas and primarily boat on lake Conroe. So far the 290 has been very stable and reliable.
