new to powerquest
 

Ok guys i ve always had formulas sold my 85 272 looking for another 292 cant find one thinking of a powerquest. Ive never been on one are they comparible to a formula and are the hulls 24 degree? Any other info would be helpful. Im in the cleveland area dont want to deal with saltwater boat. the 98 legend in the classifieds looks tempting but with bigblocks would it be stearnheavy that would not be good on lake erie chop any commemts welcome and thx

hull's are 24 degrees except for the 26 legend which was 23 degress, I have had two and think they are a very well built boat, they are not formula though. I would consider a pq better than baja but not as well built as a formula. JMO

I have also owned 2 Powerquests and they are very nice boats. Maybe a notch down from Formula but in my opinion Formulas are nice boats but way overpriced for the working man....! PQ's are well built and better quality than a Baja by far in my opinion. Find a clean well taken care of boat and I don't think you will be dissapointed. One more thing....The cabins on PQ's have far more room than that of a comparable sized Formula..if that is important to you. Good luck in your boat search....

Its the 98 29 enticer anyone have any thoughts on this boat appears clean

i have a 2000 29 Enticer and very happy with it... very smooth ride- loads of room- great styling- and a very solid boat overall... i would definitely recommend it to anyone. i would love to own a formula also but it would have to be a 331 or bigger to make me consider it... my next boat will be the 340 Viper, sunsation 32 dominator, or formula 331 fastech... hard to beat the overall room and performance of powerquest for the money though!

aj, what props and power do you run? whats your top end ? cruise speed and fuel burn at cruise ? and does powerquest still use wood stringers ?

the 290s are 23 degree dead rise with a small shingle/rocker in the back,true v, no pad hull,29.1" long including plattform,27.7"long without plattform.solid boats,good bang for the buck.

I on the other hand think PQs are just as good as a Formula and maybe a little better at some things.

25p mirage plus, 454mpi, runs about 70 and I cruise at about 50 just for personal preference... haven't calculated fuel burn at all I probably don't even want to know lol.

I don't think a 98 PQ is going to be a notch down from a 1985 Formula. The new Formulas are built with great quality for a production boat, but if you compare the 98 PQ to your old boat I don't think you will be dissapointed with the PQ.

I'm new to the power boat seen, and just bought a 92 290. First things first, such a solid boat that besides the outdated colors, the common response is "there is no way that's an 18 year old boat"! I've had mine out twice now and am just sooooooooooooo happy with the purchase! Rides so nice at any speed! Lots of room, and plus I think it's just a great looking boat as well! Good luck on the boat hunt, and you definitely can't go wrong with the PQ! I also agree about the bajas! My buddy has a 33 outlaw, and that thing is plain, and has no creature comforts!!!!!!!!!!!!!
