34 PQ Prop Issue

I have a 1999 34 Vyper with twin 500 EFI's, Bravo 1 four blade 30 pitch props. When taking off (and sometimes is really rough water) when I take off the props just let loose, they don't grab the water and over revs the motors. Is there any fix for this or is it a common issue for this boat?

I have the same problem with my 30'. You need to use a lot of tab to get it out of the water.

had the same problem with my 300 when i bought it,found the trim limit spacer backward and would not let the drives tuck down enough, once i flipped them around the boat takes off great

My 2000 has the same set-up but it's a step hull. The drives came with 1' spacers and mine comes out great.

My 1999 is also a step hull. What do you mean by a one inch spacer?

I had to add a spacer in mine also because it would "blow out" getting on plane. I think they make the x dimension pretty high on the step hull boats. The spacer goes between the top and bottom sections of the drive.

Not sure how much seat time you have in the boat, but try to get used to feathering up with the throttle and try not to let it get to the point where it breaks loose on you.

My 2000 Vyper has the 502's with 30p Labbed Bravos. I use alot of tab to get on plane but it jumps out with a little bow rise but not too bad. It has never blown the props out though. I did not even look to see if it has the spacer in the drives. I will look tonight. My 280 had the spacer in it.
