Sounds like a blast Bob... I was supposed to go to the River Shiver in IL that weekend but Uncle C is not on the radar lately... If I don't head that way maybe I'll head north...
And how about that... You were our 3,000th post on this thread buddy!!

Hey, I'm sure it has been discussed but does anyone know what happened to the two incomplete 38's that were auctioned off??
Were the boats sold, who get them and where did they go??

duceman87 10-07-2012 11:00 PM

97 256 legend motor set up

I was wonder about the Volvo penta set up in my powerquest. Every other powerquest I see has a Mercruiser set up. Can anyone give me the pros and cons? And was the Volvo set up an option? Any help would be great.

AJ POWERPLAY 10-08-2012 05:25 AM

Is your Volvo setup the one with dual-prop outdrives?

Mike- I was wondering the same thing, would be nice to see project pics

PROWRENCH 10-08-2012 07:15 AM

Jordan probably has them in one of his dad's barns. He's feverishly working to be ready for next summer. It all makes sense now.

I've seen several. Yes, it was a factory option. What motor/drive?

Hey Guys, I'm a O'l boater think'n of get'n back in......

Can someone tell me the whole story bout the Powerplay/Powerquest from Michigan history......

Been look'n & think'n bout a 33 or 38 Powerplay from Florida.

Just would like to know the history of both....

Thanks!

WwW

AJ POWERPLAY 10-12-2012 11:16 PM

Well the Florida-built boats are going to be under the PowerPlay section here on OSO... They were built by Danny Weinstein out of Ft Lauderdale. Excellent build quality and amazing ride quality, but the 33 does not have the most room you'll ever see, decent enough though. The 38 PowerPlay is enormous, and takes huge power to be real fast but you're not going to find another 38 like it in the rough.

The MI built PowerPlay/powerquest were made in Holland and all of their models seem to have best in class room and storage. They also seem to have a lot of amenities compared to others. Not the fastest hulls but great ride out of all of their boats. Their is no affiliation between the two and there was even a lawsuit over the name at one point, but you can't really go wrong with either. I've had both and I would say if you're going to be boating big open water with your buddies go PowerPlay from FL or a 30+ powerquest, if your going to be doing lots of staying on the boat then any powerquest or the 38 PowerPlay... The 33 PowerPlay just won't have the room you're looking for to stay out a few days. Not that you couldn't, bc I have and will continue to, but sometimes its nice to have that extra room.
Just my .02

Powerplay= Florida

Power Play turned into PowerQuest= Michigan..

WILDwhenWET 10-13-2012 11:42 AM

How in the hell did Powerplay steal the name from Power Play???

Thanks Guys!

WwW

AJ POWERPLAY 10-13-2012 03:59 PM

Not sure what all went down... But PowerPlay (FL) got the name and Powerquest quit using it after the lawsuit. Can't go wrong either way

PP in Florida had the name first starting in the early 80's.

I Had Mitchner T do some Paint work on my baby. He did a great job changing the Blue lighting bolts to Metallic Black. She is still for sale in the classifieds.

My friend that bought my 28 is looking to move up and I don't want to sell him my 38, so I'm on the look out for him...
I'd sell my 38 to buy something with bigger power and sixes, but can't afford the Outerlimts 44 SL yet!!

Yeah, talk about being confused!
We move around way too much to get onto the cruiser scene and I've learned to love the twin screw boat!!
You had to notice the part where I mentioned I still couldn't afford the 44 right?
So right now I'm still watering that "money tree" boys!
