I know of a Formula 38 that is VERY nice for lots less than the 340. I agree, that price seems high.

Formula is a nice boat but only for small folks. No cabin room at all

I don't know what the deal is, I haven't seen a boat that wasn't reasonably priced by a dealer unless it was a repo. The market is tough right now, and it seems like they've actually RAISED prices. I've never purchased a boat from one, but it seems weird to low-ball them on a price that actually would be a market price. I find it irritating as hell, I know they need to make a buck, but it seems they want to make a killing.

It is a buyers market out there for the most part. One of the biggest problems is there is a lot of junk out there for sale. Boats that seem advertised super cheap but need some serious tlc. By the time you go thru it and make it sea worthy, you have more than retail book price in it. All the junk is lowering the "shoppers" thought value of the nice boats. You usually have to step up a pay a little, otherwise you find yourself trying to polish a turd.

The 340 for 90k seems a bit steep though. There were a couple for 60k earlier in the year that seemed like a good buy.

All the talk of a less than great ride of the 340 is getting me concerned. I had one on the top of the next boat list but now my mind is wandering. If anyone boats on Lake Michigan Chicago/Indiana area I would love to go for a ride.

My thoughts are the same specialk, some say the 340 is a great ride and others say differently....
As far as the Formulas go the graphics that are eye catching a few and far between that I like.
I like the depth of the cuddy in the Vyper.

What would a fair market price be on this unit??

If you go for the Viper you have to have at least the HP500'S THATS TRUE FOR BOTH THE 38 AND THE 34 The Viper is a great boat but if you can swing it go for the 38. Size matters

My 340 sold for that three years ago. Granted AT just wanted it gone, but still...

Haven't been in a 34 but I've been in a 38 at LOTO Shootout weekend and it was a wave crusher. If you are going to be boating in big water go for the 38.
