280 Prop
How would a 29 Mirage prop work on my 280 Silencer? Right now i get 77 on GPS with a 28B1 @ almost 5100 and a 26B1 about 72-3 @ 5400. Procharged 454Mag

Depends on what you're trying to do,cruise or top end. Looks like you could take a little out of the B1-28,turn more rpm and have more on the top end.I run a stock B1-28 because I get a cruise of approx.47 mph at 3600-3700 which I like but I can still spin it 5400.My limiter is set at 5700. OR,turn up the boost ! Is the 29 a three blade?

Wonder how the b1 28 would do on my 280 I have a 502mpi...how did it do getting on plan. I run the diversion, blindriver, area i have b1 26 now. Bob do u still have the 28 I know u was selling your 280

I could not use a 3 blade on my 280......would blow out trying to plane.

Mine is a 4 blade but it doesnt like slow speeds around the canal I have to be careful or it blows out

when I had my 280, I got best speed out of a Hydromotive Q-IV prop.
|
Was that a Q-IV or Q-IVx? Are all the 280's single step?

boatrider82,I think a 28 would be a little too much for a stock 502. My 280 had a HP500efi. The prop I liked best was a labbed 26 B1. Still have the 280 and trying to sell it. Bought a 87 Cig out of Springfield.Going to the prop stop tomorrow. First time the Cig will be out since I rebuilt the engines.
