Hydraulic helm is finished I'm not to sure about the steering column I may change it to a anodized purple to match the wheel.

another view, notice the purple D-hooks on my lanyards they make hooking up and taking off a breeze. About a buck each at Home Depot:D

One last picture, the boat waxed and ready This is the first picture with the fairing. When I have some time I'll try to do a old vs new shot. May not sell fast but it sure does change the looks. "there's a ass for every seat". Scott

OK here is my 2 cents on the windshield/windscreen debate... If ya want a windshield buy a cruiser! :D Come on now... these are powerboats!

This picture was taken yesterday on the intercoastal in Daytona. The ocean was churning em up good yesterday also!

Scott. Like the vette in the background. Had a 96 red convertable that i sold last year... only had 24,000 miles on it! Great car, should have kept it.

Raypanic 06-03-2002 05:59 PM

ChrisK - You better change your prop it looks like you are getting a little too much bow lift.....;)

Scott - Where did you get the shut off valves? My strainers dont have any and next year I would like to put a couple in. I am planning on 1st splash on thursday!!

jmackin 06-03-2002 06:32 PM

That is something you will never see our boats do.

ChrisK 06-04-2002 12:03 AM

I guess your right on that account.... I cant see some of your bigger boats flying through the air like that. :) Believe it or not I am actually looking for another boat.. This one is GREAT, never had any issues with it that where not self inflicted (the trim pump resivour (sp?) broke on a hard landing) But i am bitten, and bitten hard... I am searching for a larger boat that I can "steal" kinda like i did this one... (guy bought the boat, was going under, etc etc etc) Other than that I have had no issues with the boat. I would recomend one to anyone looking at buying a boat like this.

jmackin 06-04-2002 01:40 AM

Step bottoms tend to fly flat and level regardless of trim. They do fly though!

jmackin 06-04-2002 02:12 AM

Scott the boat looks great. Chrisk how's 85k sound to you? If that aint a steal I dont know what is.

Scarab3DMC 06-04-2002 07:34 AM

Scott, looking good thanks for the up dates!!! hey who spilled all that paint in your bilge???? LOL !!!

Scott 06-04-2002 10:00 AM

Ray,
The shut off valves are nothing more than the white heavy duty plastic ones available from Home Depot. Painted them with merc racing blue they already had the red levers:cool: Scott

Dave,
Thanks I know that's a big mess down there thank goodness it looks better with the motors. The one good thing about a splashed bilge is it's easy to hide things Like my filled in holes from my old engine mounts and the hundred bad placed screw holes I had to fill. There was a lot of room for improvement on the rigging in my bilge. I can't see paying way too much money for a boat and having FUEL lines wire tied to water hoses.

ChrisK 06-04-2002 07:06 PM

JM. thanks... but im looking for that "you must be crazy" deal...... A friend of mine has had a few boats and made money after a year of use with them every time... im looking for something along that line.... he is now in a 2001 33' scarab... his second... he has been racing it here in florida in the outlaw class, came in first and third so far... So the search continues...

Raypanic 06-09-2002 07:34 PM

Scott, Is that the steering wheel you got from Gaffrig? I cannot seem to find any without the wrapping. I really like the anodized aluminum on yours. Where did you get it?

Gary C 06-10-2002 08:30 AM

Ray,
I put the same one on my 260. Livorsi has them, they're Momo's. It's called the Ponza style. It looks like anodized aluminum, but is really a soft polyurethane, really trick! You can get the matching hub as an extra, otherwise it comes with a black hub.

Motors are finished! go into the boat on Friday! (if it doesn't rain)
The heads have been ported and reworked by Valko race heads. The whole valve trane has been replaced I changed cams to a crane #168731. The whole rotating assembly has been balanced. I can only guess as to the new HP these motors will produce so I won't post it;) But will post the difference in the boat rpm and speed.

Re: Rebuild update

What motors are you running?
what RPMs are turning and what weight oil are you using?
has it been always the same rods that spun?
last time the motor was out did you do anything to the crank?
and did you line bore the block?

Scott 08-17-2005 10:34 AM

Re: Rebuild update

You need to add a ton of info here. Just because it's a PQ it has nothing to do with the engine and may be better off posting in the tech section.

One thought that I immediately had. Did you hook up the oil lines backward?
