300 Revenge
Does anyone have any seat time in the new 300 Revenge? I no longer have a local dealer anymore so I haven't gotten any info on this boat as of yet. Looks it would be a great upgrade from my 280. If anyone from Powerquest is reading this would you please update your web site with the 300 specs. Would anyone recommend a good Powerquest dealer in the North East, my dealer in Syracuse went under. Thanks !!!!

My local dry-land marina has one in inventory (I think they said its #4 out of the mold) You may want to give them a call on the performance spec's and what options it has if your interested.
Contact, Skipper Buds Coopersville office Phone: 616-997-2628. Michigan is a little stretch from New York, but I bet they would deliver. Nate |
You may want to try Duck's which is located in PA. 717-944-4232. I would call them as they usually have good prices. I know they have a 2001 38 Avenger with AC, TV/VCR with 496 MAG HO's for $119,000. This is a new boat with full warranty.
That was what they quoted me last week, but I decided to go another direction. They really want to move the boat. |
Got my Revenge 300 last Friday. I have twin 500hp's. The boat is equippied with Bravo 1 XR drive with the standoff boxes. It also has kPlanes. I took her out to Lake Mohave for a speed run. It was 105 out and the elevation was 630ft. She get up on plane in 3.5 sec. She topped out at 91mph according to GPS, this was with full fuel and 3 people. Yeseterday I took her out to sandiego bay. It was about 65 out and I got her up to 96mph on gps. I was planing on procharging these motor's to get some more speed but with the speed I am getting right now I think she is plenty quick. The new twin stepped hulls put all the other hull's Powerquest has made to shame. I took her out into the open ocean about 3-4ft swells. I could take her up to about 55mph before I started to get some pounding, I put the K-planes down to get the bow to cut threw the waves and it cut threw them like a hot knife threw butter. I took her up to about 70mph with the planes down and had a awsome ride. The ride on this boat is very close to the ride on the 380. It is awesome. I am also able to stay on plane at 16mph. If I do 22-23mph I can turn 3.6mpg according to the floscan. Awesome Boat Stable all the way up to the WOT. I have a GTEC meter which measures 0-60 and quater miles times. According to the meter the boat goes from 0-60mph in 7.9 seconds and run's the quater mile in 15.8seconds. Pretty awesome for a boat that right up there with a Honda Civic.... My boat out the door was $132,000.

That sounds really FAST!! Can not be much boat in the water at 90+. Last I heard PQ was not going to offer that boat with 500 efi's. Please post picks of boat , and engine compartment. Is it a windscreen or windsheild boat?
Jan |
Holy chit! That's awsome! I saw the first one just after it was painted at the factory back in December. It had 496HO's and I wondered how fast that would be. You have HP5's and do mid to upper 90's. That's frickin' unbelieveable!!!
Put a pic in this thread. Congrats! |
Just a little FWI on going to Ducky's in PA. They are really nice people and will sell pretty cheap BUT they need A LOT of work in the customer service department! See the attached thread of my experience with them (long).
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forum/sh...&threadid=6761 Email me if you want more details |
I too would love to see pics of the boat. I saw the one Vyper340 is refering to at the Miami boat show. The boat looked awsome!
I was speaking to PQ last week and they said they were still waiting to get an order for a 300 w/ HP500's because they were very curious as to how it would perform. Did you get a 300 w/ 496's and add the HP500s? Or did that boat sneak past the PQ folks???? Anyhow, congrats on the boat. You will love your PQ. I am on my second one and I really like the boat and quality! |
Congratulations that is blistering!, who would have thought that a nominal 6500 lb, 30' twin-step would even benefit from boxes.

I got the Boat with 6.2 Merc. My Dealer had a pair of brand new 500hp with the XR drives and 10" standoff boxes off a 40ft Baja. The owner of the Baja upgraded to some 1200hp Turbo Motor. Both engine only had 4hours on them. Power Quest wouldn't even consider putting the 500hp all they would put in there was the 375hp 496. I ended up paying $30,000 for both 500hp's with the dirves and standoff boxes. They took the 6.2's in trade and that helped get me such a deal on the 500hp's. It was a very simple install into took the dealer 3 days to get everything swapped. Plus I got a 5 year warranty on the engine and drive. I was considering a whipple or procharger upgrade, but I think 110mph+ is a too much for a 30ft boat on the ocean. I need a new digital camera I will be getting one this weekend and I will post some pic's plus a few video clips...

Here is a picture of the 300 at the Miami show with 496HO's (425HP). They also can't wait for someone to order one with HP500's so they can get some performance numbers. Maybe they will want to check out yours!? Let see some pics! The only 300 I saw has the limited production graphics. I'd like to see one w/ "standard" graphics. |
Things shure have changed since I placed my order. I ordered my Revenge Back in Jan of this year and all they were going to put in there was the 375hp 496. According to my Dealer Total Marine in AZ, they still won't put 500hp's or the new 525hp's. They said PowerQuest will not put that kind of power in a 30ft boat for safty reasons. At first I wanted a 500dpx Volvo engine setup and they going to do it, but they got back to me and said that would to much power and they offered the other setups. If what you are saying is ture then they have changed there tune. I saved about $15k by having the dealer do the upgrade so I am not at all unhappy but the boat does deserve to have some power. My only complant about Powerquest is the fact that they don't make of design there boat's for really high hp. Wouldn't be cool if you could buy a 380 with some of 1000hp new mercs with some #6's then maybe people would give PowerQuest the respect it deserves...

Yeah, I too would love to see a 380 (or a 340:D ) with big power.
Does your 300 have one of the limited edition graphics??? Hope you will post some pics of that bad boy!! It appears you will be able to dish out lots of "respect" out west with that set up. I hope you will post some more numbers and more impotantly, post what you have blown away with that set up. Maybe you should carry a camera with a zoom lens. That way you could zoom in on the suprised face of the guy you just blew away and post it here. It would be even better if your boat has a windshield!! :D :D Are there many PQ's around where you boat? In our area I only know of 4. A 280 and 3 340's. I think the respect aspect is growing now that PQ is becoming more well known. Sound like your dealer need to talk more to PQ and find out what they will and wonld build. When my boat was built last fall, I talked w/ Mandi B. And Pete B many times about what could be done. Now my boat is exactly the way I want it, w/ many different touches. PQ is great to deal with, before and after the sale. I've had a couple of very minor warranty issues, and Mark at PQ (customer service) is incredible at solving any problems. Interceptor232 , glad to have ya in the PQ family. Now whats up with that "Interceptor232" name? Need to change it to reflect the new boat. ;) |
I will try to get some pic and some video clips up by monday. The name Interceptor232 came from my other boat. I own a caravelle 232 sport cabin with a supercharged, highly modifed small block that kick's out 650hp. I didn't get the limited Editon Paint job just because I think it looks great now, but down the road it is going to look dated. I like the more clean cut look. I ordered the boat with a yellow hull and had West Coat Graphics and Design do a custom paint job with mostly silver and black. they are a awesome company charged about $3500 to do the work most other shops I check it would $10k and up. As for racing I did race a 29ft 2001 Fountain. It had twin 496ho's. I beat hands down, I was at least 10mph faster top speed so I dusted him good. That is really the only race I have had. The cool part is that nobody know what kind of boat I have, most people think Baja. I love PowerQuest boat with all my heart, but here in So Cal PowerQuest doesn't have a good Rep. It has the Rep of the Poor White Trash Man offshore boat. Everytime I tell somebody about what kind of boat I have they make some rude comment about how I should buy a fountain or formual baja etc. But when they see my boat they say "that's a PowerQuest". With this new boat and The hull's design's they are coming out with I think PowerQuest might get the respect it deserves...

Bill...I understand you have a lot of seat time in a 280 Silencer?
My brother-in-law boats at Lake Texoma and has a friend who purchased a 1999 Silencer with the 502MAG. Now he wants a cruiser and is selling the PQ. He is asking 51K for it but I think he picked it up for around 45K. http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/1/2/27001912.htm Top speed on this boat...70? What do you think it would do with a whipple or pro-charger...low boost? Thanks, Larry |
and yet another hummmmm....................
there are too many contradictions with this guy........different thread First is was ordering new boat around the end of May.........then we are told it WAS ordered back in January:confused: First it was that the boat was either going to be ordered with the hp500's OR the VP 8.1 with the DPX drives...........the word was that the boat was ordered with the 500's..........however we are later told that it was ordered with the 6.2's with dealer swapped 500's.... Read the above links (mine and mlitefan) and judge for yourself, and interceptor, please set your boat stats straight with us...we get tired of all the BS. |
Try this one...
http://www.goboatingamerica.com/cgi-...ML/001377.html I wonder if this is the guy that writes the Hustler stories...you know...the ones that are just too unbelievable to be true...not that I have ever read any...:D |
Mlitefan,
Great find enjoyed the link:rolleyes: :) |
Interceptor232,
Where are your pics? We want to see a Revenge. As far as this thread is concerned: http://www.goboatingamerica.com/cgi-...ML/001377.html (NOTE: this thread is NOT from Interceptor232) I don't believe ANY of it. I know for FACT that PQ never built a Revenge 300 w/ twin 420DPX Volvo's! Also I know for fact that this too is bull****: "I spoke with PowerQuest and they were deeply sorry and offered a $2000 dollar paint allowance to take it to anybody I pleased." and this too: "They said that they will not send 2 boats with the same paint job to the same state." Also the first 3 Revenge 300's had custom paint by TAD. So I don't think that too is BS. Come on guys, what going on???? Put some pics of that bad boy on this forum. Can't wait to see it!! :D mlitefan: That boat should run 67-68 all day long with peaks (in best of conditions) of 70. I have no clue of what it would do with a whipple, but guess mid 80's would work. The 280 is a GREAT boat. Stable, dry running, and handles extremely well. You thinking of getting it? I would think 42-44K for a '99 would be fair. I know Jon 280 Silencer got his 2000 for around $50K new as a factory leftover. |
I have PM this interceptor guy and have never heard back from him..........I too am waiting to see the pictures.......
Lets go, interceptor, step up or don't BS us anymore. Especially in the owners forum. |
It APPEARs like Interceptor232 is MJessop on another forum. I could be wrong, but don't think so.
Here is where he talks about his other boat, the 232 Interceptor, sounds like a sweet ride: http://www.goboatingamerica.com/cgi-...ML/001186.html Come on Matt, lets hear from you and see pictures of your 300!! |
Bill...Yep, I am thinking about it. I have an entry level go fast that I was going to repower but the deal fell apart. Still trying to do something with it though...
My brother in law has a PQ (he boats at Lake Texoma) and the boat is top notch. I also got a very good look at Rick’s Sunsation over Memorial day. He and Cignificant and Scarab-Dude were all down at Buggs island and we hooked up a few times. My brother in law has the 260 with the white windscreen and this particular boat has it as well. It makes for a great looking package… |
Mlitefan,
I hear we JUST missed you at factory Point after the airshow Saturday. I wish we'd stayed a bit longer, I would have loved to try to talk you into that PQ. Saw you come up to the airshow Sunday although I didn't know who it was at the time. I was tied to Reckless's stern watching the show. You going to be in the area anytime again? Lets hook up. Lots of OSO guys around too. |
I thought that was you! We beached up at Factory Point for a bit with Rick and John? (lead sled).
Had a blast and I can't wait to get down there again. The bay was a bit too rough for my boat but I am going to try it again soon. We were down with friends who know the area fairly well and they would go down every weekend if they had the chance...I don’t think I could go wrong with the PQ…They are sweet…Yours looked great! |
If you saw a red/yellow/blue PQ 34, then that was me! I saw your boat, but had NO CLUE as to who it was until AFTER we got to the beach. We would have stayed longer but had to set up for a party.
Hope you can come down soon, would love ta hook up with ya. Maybe next time you are in the area, Jon 280 Silencer may be around and that way you can scope out his 280. BTW: If you get that PQ, you won't have to worry about the bay being too rough. :) |
:D :D
|
mlitefan,
Let me know when your'e in the area. I'd be more than happy to have you climb around my 280. I have plenty of cold "Boat Sodas" for such events. ;) ;) Jon |
Thanks! Next time I head down, I will give you guys advanced notice and hopefully we can hook up...
I have never, ever, EVER turned down a cold "boat soda"!!! :D :D |
mlitefan
If you're on the water this Saturday run down to Chippokes on the James across from Jamestown where we'll all be and Jon B. may just have to belly up that promised soda...:D |
interceptor 232
interceptor 232
How fast does that interceptor go with that much power and how does it handle? I know a guy who was thinking about adding alot more power to his but is scared it may not handle very well with alot of H.P. |
So what happened to Interceptor232? I really wanted to know if his twin HP500 300 Revenge is faster than his 45' Donzi with triples. Of course, if the water is only running 4'-6', he might take the Interceptor out and beat both the bigger boats....
