Project Finished!!

I have a couple of small oil pressure gauge issues to work out otherwise I should be good to go.
We dropped the motors in the boat did all the hookups and fired them up. One small fuel line leak at the carb tightened it up and timed the motors. Wow did they sound great :D The new cam has a very nice idle with a good bit of that nasty lope sound:cool:
The power steering almost stopped me from getting to the water but the owner of the company that supplied my new system stopped buy on Saturday and found the right elbows to make the high pressure line fit the pump:D
I will post results when I have it all figured out but It does seem that my midrange has improved and my rpm's have increased on the top end. It was rough out plus I need to do my break in so I only buried the throttles for a couple of seconds I hit 74 right away and felt that I have a lot more potential to hit my target #'s.

I can't thank my good friends enough they are all so helpfull and have a great knowledge from experience. This group of guys have gone through more motors than you could believe. The most important thing I have learned is to eliminate the shortcuts and do things right. Sometimes this costs a lot more but longevity is important to me I can't do this every year:rolleyes:

One more thing the GPS speedo worked perfect and the antenna is mounted under the dash:cool:

Looks good Scott! I was wondering how things went. I am glad it went smoothly for you. There is nothing like the feeling of accomplishment. See you out there!

P.S. Don't forget your goggles!

North of 45th parallel

Scott, Ray,
If you guys would come over on this side and above the 45th parallel, you wouldn't have that nasty scum line!!!!! When I pulled out the boat last week in Marquette, I had no scum line after a whole week in Superior, just a little soot on the transom.

Scott,
I'll be (hopefully) staying at Middle Bass Thursday Aug 15th at the state park, along with Cardshark 388, then we'll go to Port Clinton Friday for the Coastal Marine Run again. Maybe you can meet us by boat this year! Nice to see it in the water by the way:D

Paul
