I think I would have a buyer up here if I had the 496ho's in it...
Seems like a lot of work with you being in MI and I in Vt! |
You could probably raise the price with HO's.
This whole deal has made me almost completely shelve the whipple idea in my head. However, if AJ gets blowers, gotta keep up. |

All it takes is two pallets and a weekend meet up in PA...

Everyone must be scared of Blower Motors...I guess I use to be too but these engines are really low maintenance..7.5-1 comp,Merc 525sc's go forever. I have a local guy that was interested but thinks he would be burning to much gas. All depends on how you drive it,run it like a race car and she will burn some fuel!! But cruising at 60-65 no boost, just sips it. I am still open to offers..... Jamie |

Agreed, my 575 SCi's are not bad on fuel at all unless you're running wide open. Plus being factory blower motors with low compression and mild boost they are reliable. For the long haul I'd be more afraid of putting an aftermarket blower on something with higher compression ratios.

What do you mean by battery charger? Shore Power? |
sorry..is there a battery charger on board? i think you can have one without having the whole shorepower option

I am the interested party in VT how serious is ajfisher on trading 496 ho for 525sc?
|
I am serious, I will look around abs see what 525sc's are going for so we can compare values... Drives not included I would keep mine
|
no need to swap drives or t/a's just motor for motor I would say. Dollar wise the blue motors with chargers are worth more......to someone that wants them. I would be willing to sacrifice a few hundred horsepower (combined) for the convenience of MPI, CDS engine diagnostics, and off the shelf parts availability.
|
Would you be interested in swapping props also... Or else that's another 2k for both of us

well.....first I would have to buy the boat......but if this was to really take place re-proping would be in order. From reading on here looks like HO's in the revenge run 28-30p 4 blades what is on your powerplay aj? Also if it were my decision the CMI's would stay with the revenge.
Ive got to get the wife over and look at the interior layout in person. |
I would have to have the CMI's to make the deal, my HO's with smartcraft and bulletproof nature make reselling my boat very easy when I go to sell... Not the case with older 525sc's regardless of how freshened they are. I don't think the blue motors are worth any more money and the market for them would be much more limited. If I took the trade without headers I have not increased the value of my boat any but will have had to sink even more money in it
Yes I'm running labbed 28 bravos currently |
i can buy 496 mag ho's brand new from mercury with warranty for 10k each.
The big question is , if I buy this boat right now, when would you be prepared to do this swap....how serious are you about wanting these motors. The 26's probably will turn to many rpm especially being labbed.....something can be done im sure |

There are a lot of people with a lot of money in this sport... I'm not one of them. I can't justify swapping for carbed motors with no headers... May as well buy new ones from Mercury.
|
I understand the money situation. Hence why I would prefer a more economical non supercharged pair of engines.
I should have asked my question better... if swapping complete for complete, (complete engines, exhaust, props) how soon would you be prepared to come to VT and exchange set ups? |
I'm cleaning my wrenches as you two speak!
|
I'd be looking at a mid-October swap

I know I read that wrong.....the labbed 28's would prob work just fine.
|

was thinking more about a/c outlet for microwave,or coffee maker in the morning...im a weekender guy...
that boat gives me a boner....:evilb: |
There is a nice 30 amp shore power package available that has a small breaker panel that has a 110 outlet in it and comes with two additional outlets that are plug a play.
This package also comes with the 30 amp hull plug in. Price is just under $400.00 if I remember right. I'll try and find the site and post it. |
The site is ezacdc.com
Price for the kit is $370.00 with free shipping. https://www.ezacdc.com/boat-wiring-p...l-shore-power/ We just installed this kit last week in our old 280 and it really simplifies things when tied up at the docks. Very simple install as well. |
