Thanks for the reply. I am pretty open to sea level in Michigan. I currently have 454 MPI mags in it and 26P props. It's a solid 63/64 everyday boat even loaded. I am planning on a motor swap and have some power options, I would like to run in the high 80s consistently, is the goal. Say low fuel and w 2 people maybe a low 90. I was estimating 700 hp per side should do it.... looking for others experience with this boat.

where do you boat at

I was curious to this as well. I am planning on building mine over the winter. Should be seeing a little over 600 a side. Was unsure if I should try spinning out or keeping it in.

Last run of 2020 I swapped my props to spin "out" on my modified bottom early-2000 380 hull. Boat absolutely loved it! Wife even noticed how much better it accelerated and handled. ran about the same speed WOT but got there much faster as it reduced slip and stern lift. Boat ran a bit flatter but was far more responsive everywhere else. friend took pics of me running and boat had the perfect attitude, handled like it was on rails, and at WOT and threw a nice roost as well. I WILL change my shifters and keep spinning out going forward. This is on basically stock 502MPI's even.

Flame arrestors are custom fab :drink:

Also note that the boat was an absolute handful at 80 with props turning in.:helmet:
Turning them out was a night and day difference. He has permanently switched his controls to spin them in the much safer out direction.

Going to try turning mine out, turning in it has too much bow rise. 496mags 69-70 mph 4500-4600rpm. Turning in the stern drops and bow rises takes 3/4 throttle and plenty of tab to get going. What's everyone's opinion.?

In 2001 or 2002 PQ changed the hull design a little to help her get moving. Mine is a 02 around 1500hp with the big 280 K-Planes and still a dog for a second or two. I have tested both in and out, I did not notice any change on the bottom end just notice more control at top end. But also noticed my props seem to lose their finish faster turning them out, maybe a little more cavitation at some point. So what I'm getting at the 340 Vyper is not a holeshot boat, but still love the boat.

I have the 280k planes too but even down it rises so much turning in that I cannot see boats in front of me. Do u still have a lot of bow rise turning out?

Yep, 5 seconds of blindness.

I have a 99 with fresh 500 EFI blue motors that I bought June 2021 and I'm still trying to get the holeshot and efficiency optimized. Props are 30P Bravos turning in and bow rise and slip are ridiculous just like all of you mentioned. I'm not necessarily trying to improve top speed but improve holeshot and decrease slip even if it means a slight loss up top. Going to try spinning props out and aslo experiment with Hydromotive P5X's this summer.

I have also thought about trying the P5X's, please let us know how it goes.
