Garboard Drain Plug

My Powerquest is leaking water. I think it is coming in around the Garboard Drain Plug & its plate. When tightening the plug into the plate. The plate & its 3 screws give a little when tightening the drain plug into the plate. I am assuming the chalk or adhesive between the plate & the hull has broken its seal & letting the water in. My question is, if I unscrew the 3 screws holding the Garboard Drain Plug on, clean out the adhesive or chalk out. What adhesive or chalk do I use to put it all back together ???

Tom !!!

Probably want to get your transom tested for moisture content.

Trying to figure out why one would use chalk in there:confused: Maybe that is why it is leaking, chalk doesnt do good with water, I would remove it, and replace using caulk this time, preferably 4200 or 5200:party-smiley-004:
