Prop Rotation
 

The props on my 300 are turning in. Has anyone tried spinning them out? I never had a problem docking a single engine,but this thing is no fun trying to dock. Did they come from the factory spinning in? I know it would be less bow lift turning out.

They spin in as designed.

try docking with one engine only..the other left in neutral..

If this is your first twin maybe try to dock as you would with a single... But using both sticks for forward, and both for reverse.
Once you get that issue resolved time to split stick and use both engines........it's been fun learning to walk the boat sideways.....

I've tried one engine,both and just using the drives without using the steering wheel. Sometimes I can do it other times its like What The Hell Happened!!! I do need a lot more practice. Very frustrating becouse of years with a single I was NEVER worried about docking the boat.

my thought has allways been you have a steering wheel for a reason so use it..

practice and go slow when in doubt back out and do it again,,dont worry about whos watching,,they wont help you pay for the damage!!!!

Guys running staggereds with the props turning in will trim their drives up a bit when docking to make the boat more responsive. Even though you do not have staggered engines you might give it a try.

This works well to balance the prop response. Gives the reverse prop more thrust since it doesn't drive the water into the transom. Gives the forward prop less thrust since it is pushing water to the surface. I'm betting it will help your situation.

Best pointer is the 'bump' into and out of gear method to keep the boat moving slow...the only time slow is good in a go-fast boat. :whistle:
