In Hull transducer mounting help??
 

I have a 260 and am looking for a location to mount the transducer for my Garmin. The depth sounder gave out a while ago (transducer malfunctioning) in which it looks like Powerquest built a spot in the bilge specifically to mount transducers (raised circular spot). I was thinking about removing the depth sounders transducer and placing the garmin in hull transducer in its location.

Any advice on this???

Are Powerquest cored hulls?

Your 260 is a cored hull. THe area where the old transducer sits is not cored, so that is where you'll need to put the new one.

Awesome...thanks for the help. Just an example of the extra step Powerquest took when constructing their boats. Too bad they went out of business.
