Smaller PQ Boats

Wondering if anyone else out there has a PQ like mine. 97 220 SX. 7.4 B1.
It's been a good first performance style boat for my wife and I but would love to step up to 28' at some point a few years from now. I noticed when doing a google search that there's not alot of info on my boat. Did PQ not make alot of them? Are there any concerns that i should know about with these boats?? I found the boat chine walks like crazy at WOT. Bought tabs and fixed the problem.
Any input would be great...

I think the 220 was called a 'precept', aren't they an open bow? Chine walking is common at top speed on a few models... My 290 did it too. If you are looking at moving up to a 280 there are a few around for sale and I haven't heard much bad about them, they are solid boats with good cockpit and cabin room.

Have a 237 Stryker XL, Chine walk doesn't seem to be an issue. Take's wake and chop great! I'm VERY impressed with my PQ for it's size. Friend's in Baja's that are slightly bigger can't run through what I can and that's an awesome feeling! I'd like to move up to a 26+ next year but my 327 has been a great boat!

I have the 22' precept. It's a closed bow and rides really nice through 2' chop. It does have the worst chine walk ever at WOT, but was an easy fix with some trim tabs.

it's crazy to me that i've only found one other similar precept online. I would think there would be tons of them due to the size for small to medium size lakes. I can run with my buddies 24' Baja all day long at 60MPH. Any faster then that, I'll buy a bigger boat.

I have a 1995 Spectra 222 XL. 22 footer with a 454 mag. I put aluminum 496 manifols on it last winter and get 62 mph out of it now. I love the boat.

What was your top speed before you changed the manifolds?

What did your exhaust cost you (manifolds and risers)? I like the look of your setup!

I was at 60 mph before I changed out the manifolds. I bought the manifolds and risers in the swap shop here for $500. I also had to fab. some bracketry The manifolds are about 1" taller and 1" wider than the stock manifolds. To fix this I welded an offset together out of 4" aluminum tube. Thanks for the compliment on the boat. I would like to move up to a 28 but just cant part with this one yet.
