since I never use the V berth in the boat I thought this might be a nice little ad on so I could keep the bumpers and life jackets off the cabin floor..I put quick clips on one side so I can have easy access

Can you post some more pics of this set up? I realize it is a tailgate net for a pick up truck, but curious what truck it is off and how you attached it. I really like this idea. |

That does look good but since I do use my v-berth I've installed a cargo net under the u-shaped seat at front between the couches. Just some simple hooks into the bottom of the seat, the cargo net is out of the trunk of a car. Sure keeps the random crap from rolling around in the cabin!

According to an active thread in the Tech section, your outlets should be ground side up.

Looks good Tom, that's a good idea! One time my cushions and bumpers had such a hayday down in the cabin I couldn't open the door on my 290!

Connections of wire to wire should be soldered, then sealed with plastidip tool dip.
Wire to connector (ring, spade, male-female butt) shoal be non insulated crimp then solder then platidip. Another is liquid tape....same stuff. The important part is lack of exposure to air and moisture. Copper stranded is a recipe for disaster. Everything I just wrote is related to dc. Dc travels on the outside of the strand......so more strands, lower resistance (impedance higher) 1 20a gfi will feed an additional 9 on the load side. Ac uses the entire line, so solid is a much better decision. Always ground up....or opposite of what u see in your house. This is for safety. Only.

Yeah I read that but he is also recommending solid wire and also soldering the wires as well which from what I have read is a big no no,from what I have been told solid wires and soldering wires on boat could crack,,,,thanks on the outlet tip I will look into to ,,I did it according to the instructions in the box

Not saying how you did it was wrong. I just wanted to point out a thread on the same topic showing the outlets upside down. First I had heard of that. I will be interested to see how Formula wires their outlets up when I am down in LOTO here in a few weeks.

Hello, what make and model is the box? I've been looking for a smaller one like that.
Did you bolt the metal supports to the trailer or weld? |

I agree. That tip doesn't know if it is on a boat or a truck. Looks good. .
any concerns you think I should have???,,the tips have the internal water shutters/flappers,,and turn downs clear steering in all trim positions....am I missing anything? |
My only observation, as I'm not sure if it would be a concern, is that most turn downs are angle-cut to the rear.
http://www.gibsonmarine.com/turndowns.html I don't think your tips could scoop up any water coming onto or off of plane. Do you always blurp the throttles just as the boat settles at the stern when you come off plane? |

Do you always blurp the throttles just as the boat settles at the stern when you come off plane? I know what you mean about the reverse slash cut on the gibsons,,if anything I thought the gibsons might be a issue when getting boat off trailer at the ramp or when you come off plane and get the wake hitting the back of the boat,, I though with the constant exhaust flow/pressure it should keep water from going in the exhaust and also the riser is much higher but dont really know for sure... any input would be great |
