290 Enticer Fx value
I currently have a Crownline and looking to upgrade to a twin screw. I love the PQ's due to the deep hull and stable ride. I am looking at a 1998 290 Enticer FX in excellent condition with twin 454 MPI's and a newer 3 axle trailer. Unfortunately the boat does not have an hour meter, but looks to be low due to the condition. It is hard to put a value on this due to the fact that there are not a lot of 290's with MPI's currently for sale and NADA seems way low.
What are your opinions on the value of this boat? Thanks |
My thoughts are NADA realy lowered there prices just because PQ is out of business, PQ's are STILL a sought after boat even with them being out of business realy since like 2005 ish!:confused:
PQ's were all built with quality and people know that, and being a ALL around great boat which keeps prices up for sellers and hold some value for owners. Not realy sure about a price 30's?? Depends if the colors are pink and teal then 50's:lolhit: |
I would say upper 30s maybe low 40s if its mint and optioned out well..
you can have a marina scan the engine ecus for true engine hours.. |
Ones of my customers is selling a 290.
I will post pics and info tonight. Can be bought in the low 30's,,,, he needs the downpayment for a house |
These boats sold for $70K new. I would not want to be into a 15 year old boat at 50% or more of what it cost new.

I ordered a brand new 290 in 1995 and ordered a second brand new 290 in late 1999,,with some option and both were A LOT more then 70k...I also have to say that there is a BIG difference in quality/build from the 90s 290s to the 2002 70 for 70 290s.. but it still sucked to see the 70 for 70 AD in the back cover of Powerboat mag back then, it took the resale value of the used 290 down,, |

I can tell you that I sold my 290 this spring for north of 40k within a week, it had a nicer than factory paint job and some other nice additions, but overall I think the boat market has come back up some from where it was, especially since the volume of boats built in the last 8 or so years has been DRASTICALLY less than it was before, even non-existent at one point. When you aren't getting as much supply naturally demand is going to come up a little.
