Vyper Weight

Hello Everyone,

Today, prior to dropping the boat of for the winter I went and had it weighed, I was surprised.

Boat:

2002 Vyper with 496s
40 gallons of fuel (holds 169)
Air conditioning
Macerator
Hot water heater
Wind screen boat
Anchor, fenders and lines in boat....everything else removed for winter

Trailer:

1999 Integrity triple axle
Steel
Surge brakes with drums
No drive guard
Aluminum wheels
Spare mounted on trailer

The boat on the trailer weighed in at 11,800lbs

Had my 2000 Vyper weighed at the end of last season at the CAT scales. Twin 502's, AC, approx. 40 gal. fuel, windscreen boat, All gear in boat. Trailer is an aluminum Manning tri-axle, aluminum wheels w/ spare, no drive guard, elec. over hydrualic disc brakes. Weight was 11,200 lbs. Sounds like main difference in weight between mine and PWRADDR is the trailer. Steel vs. Aluminum.

Hey Diggin, thanks for posting.

I wonder what the trailer weighs...I will weight it in the spring. Any idea what yours weighs?

I don't know for sure. I was told that I could save several hundred pounds on that size of trailer going from steel to aluminum. I also like that fact that I don't have to deal with waxing the trailer paint and rock chips/rust on this trailer!!

I hear ya...I got a decent deal on the trailer so I have what I have.

I'll post up in the spring...I think that steel trailer must weight 3k. Maybe more.

You are probably right about that weight. Look forward to knowing what yours weighs. Thanks!

When I bought my Vyper it did not come with a trailer so I had the option to pick what I wanted and how I wanted it built. Ron from Manning Marine built mine and I love it.

I too bought mine without....stumbled on the trailer from a member who was parting out the totaled Vyper awhile back. Needed bunks which was no big deal and I also installed a new roller on the winch stand.

The bottoms were clearly different, 1999 was on the trailer, mine is a 2002 and the bunks needed to be shimmed up. Again no big deal, I bought the trailer right....I was happy as well as the seller.

See nothing but great things about Manning.
