I'm planning on buying another boat this winter/early Spring. I gotta get a true bowrider, so I'm looking at a PQ 260 SLS or another Laveycraft, probably a 26' or 24'. Wife wants a Cobalt, but I just don't see ANYWHERE they can justify the prices! Cobalt makes Sunsation blush! $20-30k at least over what they should be asking (used). It's a production boat, they all look the same and the power blows. The ride is good, not great. They did a damn good job marketing.
I saw a PQ 260 SLS on craigslist for $52k! I was gonna tell the guy to put the pipe down and price it reasonably, but I'll just wait a few more months. |
The 260SLS is a pretty nice boat, there used to be one sitting at torch river marine I would check out. The cobalts are a very nice boat as well, don't kid yourself, and can be had with a 496HO... They are just marketed toward a different crowd. I think you should have kept the Lavey! That was a sweet boat!
As far as winter upgrades for me: underwater and cockpit LEDs, MORE stereo goodies :D, and a little extra paint work... But where is a surprise:whistle: |
For those of you doing stereo upgrades here's my experience...
My boat is equipped with a Sony Xplod system from factory...head unit, amp, 10 disc changer, speakers & subs. The cd changer was nothing but a pain in the azz, taking up closet space and carrying cd's etc. This past summer I turfed the cd changer and replaced the Sony head unit with a current unit that has the 'tune tray' ipod holder built in. Now, I have ALL my music and it's even satellite receiver ready. The best part (and easiest) was going Sony to Sony, all the connectors were identical, it was plug & play. :drink: |
