Congrats on the new boat. You might want to look up Julio who posts on here sometimes. Has a 280 w/ 502 efi and lives on the Amite. Where do you live in Maurpas? My parents have a place in Head of Island, practically grew up out there. Good luck.

Congrats on the new boat!!!!:D I bought a 2000 in December. I've been loading up the hours on it all summer. I think it's a great boat. You will have lots of enjoyment.
I put a K&N air cleaner on mine instead of the Vortec. Got mine from Rex Marine. 909-392-7300 Part no. KN59-5006 with adapter part no. 456-700.
I did a search of the country for 280 Silencers starting around November of last year. Is your hull ID number PPN28097G001? I was looking at one very similar to yours. It was located in Alabama.
I agree with Bill R on the props. I tested a hydromotive and a mirage on my boat. I recommend to stick with the Bravo.

I live on the Diversion Canal in the WaterFront subdivision across the street from Canal Bank Bar Lot 18. You will soon see the boat on the boat hoist this Sunday. Look me up some time. I have a 2001 280 Silencer as stated by JMeng. I live on the Amite River in Summerfield, just a few miles up river from you. Actually I'm 1 mile from Freds.
Any way, I love my boat and hope to get many years of use from it. Look me up one day and we can do some crusing together.
I stay on channel 68 and go by N2DEEP.

Julio, will look you up sometime to go cruise. How large is your fuel tank on your boat? Just curious on how far your able to run on full tank.
