Need advice on a 260

I'm looking at a very clean, original owner, 2001 260 Legend. This is just what I am looking for for a young family. Only doubt is the engine being a 6.2 MPI. Any experience with this engine on a 260 or otherwise? Thanks.

There is a 2002 PQ260 in Spring lake with the 496HO for ~$30k. I would take a look at it before I pulled the trigger on the one with the 6.2L. The 496HO should put you in the mid 60's+ and resale value will be much better.

For 16k you can't go wrong on that 237....:party-smiley-004:

I had a 95 257 which is the same as the 260, it was a great boat, real big for a 26', I had a 454 mag and I think I was at 61-62? I dont know about the 6.2, I would definitely take it for a sea trial to see if it has enough juice, not goiung to be a speed demon but if your looking for a good family boat maybe?

Where do you see that 2002 in Spring Lake?

I would definitely pass on a 260 with a 6.2, unless you get a smoking deal in which you could make up an engine swap.

I'm going to look at the 2002 Legend tomorrow. It has the 496, non-HO. Any experience with this engine? I'm looking for reliability. Thanks.

I would say the 496 is pretty much bullet proof. I have put over 600 hours on one before I sold it,and it ran the same as when it was new.
