380 avenger bottom question
 

I am about to close a deal on a 2003 380. I have been reading the posts on the bottom changes and see where folks say you can tell the difference by looking at where the tie downs on the transom are located. Now I am confused. The 2003 i am looking at clearly has the eyes higher than the pic of the 2002 i looked at. the hull id indicates it is a 2003? anyone help with this, i don't want the pre changed bottom.

You will have the new bottom, 2001 was the first year of the new bottom. Which boat is it & what power?

thanks for the reply. I just noticed that they changed the transition from the lower swim platform in 03. They rounded it in and forward higher on the transom so the strap eye would appear higher.

I think the difference is in the Inner strake, they shortened it and revised the hull a little, they are faster and are supposed to handle better than the 98-00 models. They also added a different bilge vent on the side, going from a screw on square style to more of a molded in sleek . They are sweet boats, besides a black thunder you will have a hard time finding a performance boat with more room in it.

Your model year will have the good bottom as Aj said.
