Have questions regarding volvo dpx repairs needed
 

Hi, i have a 1999 powerquest 260 sx with a 454 gsi volvo engine and dpx outdrive.

i need to replace some bellows due to water coming in. I havnt had a chance to look at them

yet but a boat guy I know said they needed done.

so my problem is this, there arent any volvo dealers in my area

i just went to the merc dealer which is a good friend of mine and he said he would love to work on it,

but he doesnt have the shifter tool needed for volvo. If I am going to have the outdrive off, Im going to change anything needing replaced,

including bellows, gimbal bearing, u joints, etc.

So my questions are this:

1) do I need special tools to try and tackle this job myself. and if so , which tools

2) i am not a mechanic by any means,however im not useless, should i be trying tackling this job

3) how extensive of a job is this

4) where online can i purchase the parts needed.
