Just bought my very first boat. 92 PQ 222 Spectra. I plan on wheeling out the hull and possibly doing a moderate stereo upgrade this winter. Cant f'in wait till spring.

AJ POWERPLAY 11-02-2013 04:22 PM

Where are you located DanG28

DanG28 11-02-2013 04:25 PM

St Clair Shores. Will do most of my boating on Lake St Clair. You?

AJ POWERPLAY 11-02-2013 04:28 PM

Mid-Mi lansing area... Was going to send u to swift audio if u were north but kinda far from LSC

DanG28 11-02-2013 04:32 PM

Oh I gotcha. Whatever I do, I'll do on my own. I used to be very familiar with car audio, so iI'm sure it will all come back to me when I dig back in. It won't be anything major anyways. Replace existing speakers, add a sub or two, replace head unit, and add an amp or two. Thanks tho.

AJ POWERPLAY 11-02-2013 05:50 PM

Whether u do your own or not, go with JL, they blow the other brands out of the water with the sound quality they offer. Great on the power supply also

St Clair is my "home lake" too. You trailer or keep at a marina?

DanG28 11-02-2013 07:26 PM

I will probably trailer it. I live at 9 Mile and Jefferson, so Im sure I'll launch around here somewhere.

Padraig 11-02-2013 07:32 PM

I have a, new to me, Velocity VR 1 that I dropped off to Eddie Young to do a little magic to.

No hi jack, all good!

I think you made a good move, beautiful area you live in now. What do you do for work?

Left me know when you are coming down, we can meet for a beer.

Padraig 12-29-2013 06:29 PM

Eddie is putting my engine on the dyno, in about a week.

I got something done!
Jacked up the gas cap on my XLT-185 and put a 22' with a 496 under it, albeit not a PQ.
The rest of the XLT, sans gas cap, will be headed for the Lake St. Clair area with the new owner.

I changed my engine oil in both motors, including the filters. Then I went a little big time and changed the gear lube in both drives as well. I am hoping for an extra 5-10mph. :thankyouthankyou:

I heard you only get that speed increase if you use that new non-synthetic Wolf's Head with a dab of STP for good measure. :D

verbi69 01-01-2014 12:27 PM

I'm shopping for one more new XR outdrive. Summer seems like it's still a long ways away......

abones 01-01-2014 01:27 PM
