Fuel Tank Depth? 01' 280 Silencer
Im looking at buying an aftermarket fuel sender and it requires you to know the fuel tank depth. This sender is not a float style. Does anyone know how deep this 100gal tank is? I called powerquest and Mark stated the he thought it was about 11" deep. I would rather know for sure before I order it. Thanks for any and all help.

Can you get to the gas tank where the existing sending unit is? If so, pull out the sending unit and stick a tape measure in it. I was able to do that on another boat that I owned.

Julio: I have received the new updated sender from Flordia Marine Tanks that is a direct replacement for the old one. It has both elec. and mech. type readout so that when my elec. fuel gauge would go out for some un-known problem, you could look at the tank sender and get a reading from the top of the tank of how much fuel is left. I also bought a floatless type which is suposed to be alot better than float style. It would have no movement of the needle when fuel moves inside tank. Nascar uses this same type of fuel sender. Maybe see you on the river this weekend if there is no rain.
