Powerquest Fun Run

Did anyone nail down an exact day and times for a run talked about on the Powerquest Facebook forums? They had mentioned August 16 starting in Holland, MI and ending up in Grand Haven. Sounds like it should be a good time.:cool-smiley-011:

Yes the 16th. Starting in Grand Haven running to Holland for lunch at Boatwerks, stopping by the sand bar in Port Sheldon for a couple of drinks and tell some lies then back to Grand Haven for dinner at Old Boys Brew House or 22 Below and to tell more lies. Lol. Can reserve slips at municipal marina Feb 16th

Hi Folks -- Happy New Year

I may have interest in this but I need lots more information. I don't have a Powerquest - different class of boating for me- but it would be nice to see the big boats. I have a 226 Cobalt that we are thinking of putting in at St Joe and then go up to Saugatuck and Holland. Being a 23 ft boat do you think this is doable?-- Of course this is all dependent on the weather. From your experience how long do you think it would take to get up to Holland from St. Joe? Average 30 mph-- that's just a guess.

thanks

I'm only taking a guess because I've never been south of Holland but I'm thinking 20 min or so at that speed. Like you said...The biggest factor is the water conditions for that day.

St joe to holland going 30mph may take like 2hrs. It's takes like an hour going down the highway

jbraun2828 01-02-2014 04:43 PM

Okay so it's about 40 miles. Going 30 it will take you 1 hr and 20 minutes

Folks thank you for the inputs

I figured that it was going to take at least an hour but now a little more information puts it all in perspective. I know we took our old boat from Douglas to Holland at it took about 25 minutes in very calm water. Now in regards to the slips. If we decide to eat at the Boatworks do you still need to rent a slip - or does the restaurant have slips for patrons.

thanks

Sorry. .I reread your original post. .I missed the south haven part. They have spots to tie up but no slips at boatwerks. If you look it up on Google maps and zoom in you will see what I'm talking about

How many boats do you think can get tied up at Boatworks?
