Will a Revenge fit on a Silencer trailer?
I've recently purchased a Revenge and its almost time to bring it home. Home will be at the Wharf in Grand Haven, MI.
We're not totally sure if we want to purchase a trailer this season, or really at all. So, the question is 'how do we get this home?' I have a chance at using a trailer for a Silencer but am kind of doubting the Revenge fitting. If the on off chance the tongue is long enough where the bow stop could be moved enough, would the stepped hull of the Revenge and the Silencer match enough to be safe on a trailer? Next question, is there anywhere to rent something like this to get it home? If it comes down to getting a transporter, i'll just get my own trailer. Thanks for any insight or help on this situation. Congrats on the new boat, we are at the wharf as well. How far away is the boat? I would think you could make the smaller trailer work just to get it home
|
Thank you!
The only problem is the trip is close to 500 miles. Not a small distance to hope it works, I know. Thanks for bringing that up I forgot to in my original post. |
Awesome to have another PQ coming back to Michigan. Which one did you buy? Will you be joining the PQ fun run on August 16th
|
Thanks Drock. It's a 2005 near Baltimore. I'll make a better post with pictures and an introduction once we pick it up and get better pictures.
I reserved a spot at the municipal for the fun run, hopefully we'll get to do the whole thing. |
You could also check with Phil at the wharf, they may have some trailers available to rent.
|
I was actually going to call them today. I didn't know if that's something that they do.
|
No....

Was waiting for you to chime it.
Does a normal trailer offer enough support? To rent a trailer and use it once for the 500 miles? example: http://www.boatwheels.biz/images/PB32-RS1520.JPG |
I would think that trailer would work fine in the picture, the silencer trailer is out of the question the 300 is far too heavy for it. Maybe a mile, but 500 miles no. Last time I weighed my 300 about half full of fuel and loaded with junk for a long weekend I had 10,690lbs on the back three axles and guessing about 900lbs to 1,000lbs on the tongue. That's with the steel trailer too.

Congrats on the new ride! You will soon discover the magic of the 300.
|
Congrats, welcome to the clan!

Can't help ya with the trailer but congrats. I heard those 300's are bad ass.

The issue would be the stepped hull on a straight bunk, thats a lot of weight concentrated on the edge of the steps for a long period of time. Buy a cheap trailer and have it re-bunked... Could get measurements from any of the revenge guys on here. What power??

Thanks for the input.
I've decided on a custom trailer. No sense in having something not up to the task. It has 496 HO's, Bravo 1 X's, air/heat. I'm assuming it has the "weekender" package. It has the bimini and front isinglass but not the sides or rear curtain. Hopefully i can get those before the end of summer. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! |

Has anyone had problems with a stepped hull sitting on a rack? |
I was surprised to find out NorTech delivers their boats on straight bunk trailers all the time. The factory also told me tons of people keep them on flat bunk lifts in Florida. Mine was delivered 1200 miles with no issues, but it sits on fitted stepped bunks on the lift now.

Thanks! Yes, the air and heat are a great bonus. Considering there is still ice on the lakes here, heat may be the real bonus this summer. :angry-smiley-038:

Never heard of a 300 with air, where did they put the unit?
|
Mine sits on a rack with no problems.I always make sure they set the transom on the bunks when it is lowered.

Where did you have your trailer built? Reason I ask is my wife decided we need to head to Torch lake more often and I lack a trailer for my 300. Was it local around Grand Haven?

I went through Integrity Trailers right off the highway in Nunica. They have been nothing but kind, courteous and reasonable. I'd recommend them to anyone. |
I believe Integrity used to make trailers for the PQ factory; pretty sure my old 280 had an Integrity under it.
