25' pq ? s

Looking over a 1995 25' for a friend.
365 mag, b3.
I'm guessing high 50s, low 60 mph boat?

Any areas of concern I should pay extra attention to on these boats?
Thanks

Boat should run high 50's.

Wiring is the weak point in these boats.

Ok so I'm not a pq guy but this thing looks legit
My only questions are how the **** do you access the wiring behind the dash? There No Access! Gotta pull the whole dash console?
Also the transom is solid but you stick your finger in thru the drain plug and there is a big void if you reach up. Did pq leave a cavity there for any particular reason? You can feel the wood cut and resined on the bottom, then halfway up the cut.....Boom!!! The wood is gone for like 3" then it's hard as a rock again and almost feels resined. What gives?
This is a legend 257

I have not had any problems with the wiring on either of my PQ's but when you do lift the instrument panel it's not a pretty looking wiring job! Not sure about the drain plug but the bilge on my '93 was very well gel coated....

Ok, thanks N4S^

What would you guys value this at?
95, 257 legend, 365 mag, b3, new risers and manis. Full tune, props just back from recon, interior 9 out of 10, gel coat 8 out of 10, 450 hours, has bottom paint , was left in for a season but it doesn't show.

The problem with PQ's wiring is that they did not use distribution blocks that were fed by heavy gauge wire to power individual items. They ran undersized wire up to the dash and then piggybacked power to switches and gauges from one item to the next.

Not a whole lot. What condition is the outdrive in? Early Bravo III's left in the water would dissolve like Alka-Seltzer. Bottom paint kills the value. I personally wouldn't give more than $15K.

Good info, thanks! Luckily I haven't had to investigate that far...

outdrive is in very good shape with the original paint it still has a good shine and there is zero signs of corrosion. The gear oil was used last year and still was clean w/o metals in it.

He's below 15 w/o making a offer just feeling the owner out

thanks !

Then the owner is asking a fair price. I would get a quote on removing the bottom paint and buffing the hull before making an offer. That is, unless the new owner plans to leave the boat in the water and wants the bottom painted. With bottom paint, the boat might only run low 50's.
