Well the boat has been sitting at the Certified Merc dealer for a week waiting to get scanned to see what my alarm issue is. So my question is has anyone purchased the Rinda Technologies DIACOM® Marine PC Software if so was it user friendly and useful?

Just buy the Rinda scanner and keep it in the boat. It's the best $500 you will spend on the boat; and it will tell you all you ever need for troubleshooting issues. You can recoup some of your costs by renting it out to friends.

There were a couple floating around for $300 range..

I found one on Craigslist a couple years ago for $100.
