Quest for Speed 01-21-2003 02:32 PM

Thanks for the info Scott, very usefull, including the prop info from the tech section. I have a set of Labbed 30's on the way that should get me the 300 RPM that I'm short. I also have the 7" Standoff with the ITS drives that is usually good for a mile or two per hour. I know 85 is wishfull thinking but I don't think 82 or 83 is, considering I run 79 now(GPS and GPS speedo). A little more seat time, a few more hours on the engines and the new props and I guess I'll see what happens.

Pro-chargers

Quest for speed:
I'm selling the proc-chargers and my 502 mpi's that were in the boat when I brought it. It all started like you are doing now. I got tried of being past in the poker runs. So the first year put headers on it, second year installed pro-chargers.
The boat was a rocket. 87mph going up the Ohio River. There wasn't to many boats that want to mess with me then. Got tried of listining to the whinning of the blower and belts. Couldn't hear the radio when crusing and the wife was always complaining about the nosie. Prochargers cost $9000 new will sell for $7000 or You can buy both motors with everything on them for $15000. Motors are as follows 1999 502 mpi with crane gold roller rockers chrome valve covers ,Stainless Marine Headers, 2000 Prochargers and I put a wedge tray in the crankcase to keep the oil off the side walls. Motors have 125 hours on them. Only 25 hours with pro-chargers running on them. If anybody needs them # as follows 859-653-7321 or e-mail me. Steve

I won't be in the market for any engine upgrades until the warranties expire at the end of the year. Also, I did not know that the prochargers from your 502's would work on 500's. I thought your first post the you had them on 500's.

Scott, I think they sharpened all trailing edges of mine . They only did the bottom outward to the first strake, which is probably what is in the water when on plane.

I'm still working on the pictures. I have the camera all figured out, the boat is ready and I think I know how to post pictures on the board. Only problem is I blew a transmission seal on my truck and it is in for service. Hopefully this weekend.

Good Idea to dig this up!!!

You new folks will find a lot of info that Raypanic and myself posted a couple years back!
Please check out my thread on the holding tank problem if you own a 38 and have problems with it.

I think there is another thread about our rebuilds that may give some useful motor mount info.

BTW, I finally hit the 84 mark playing around with props I strongly suggest Throttle up props for your repairs and lab work :drink:
