Next boat?

What would be a good step from a 38 PQ? We aren't ready to slow down yet so express cruisers aren't an option. We really like AT's 37 AVH but is considerably more than a comparable 38 PQ and not sure it would be worth it (to me). Maybee a 38 with the right power and options???

What kind of price difference are you talking about between the AT and the PQ ?

My GUESS would be 65k++ Not trying to get into numbers. If I had it I would!!!

When I was "just thinking" about a step up I was concidering a 42 Fountain and 42 Cigs, The Cigs were a little pricy but the Foutains could be had reasonably. I Like the staggared engines for service reasons. There are some 37 Outerlimits that look real nice out there too.

I would think if you are ready and have the $$$$ now is the time to buy. If we go to war with Iraq you may get even more for your dollars too.

jmackin, can I ask why you sold your boat?

I would add Black Thunder to that list. We have a 43 in the club (soon to be another) and it is one sweet ride. It will crack 80 with super charged tall decks and the accommodations are outstanding.

I probably jumped the gun when I bought it. I was only 26 yrs. old and it wasn't the exact boat I wanted but it was a good deal and all I could afford at the time. This yr I built a house and figure why not sell and get another boat in a year or two with the options and power I would want in a boat we want to keep for a while. The 38 PQ is perfect for the type of boating we do but a change would be nice. 43 BT's are sweet but a little big and slow with stock power. Probably wont buy till next year, but ya never know. Thanks for the suggestions but trying to stay within a certain budget with 500's or 525's.

26!!!!!!!!!!! You were in a 38PQ at 26????? M******r F*****r!

I still had another 8 years to go in my ten year old '74 Wellcraft V20 at that point.
