My new PQ

A few picks of the new (97) enticer...... Had it out for a 10 minute ride and then right to storage until April. I don't know about you guys but global warming can't be that bad if it extends the season.........

Sweet!

Winterizing sucks. I'm heading to the marina today to put the final touches on it. Antifreeze flush and fog. But she will see the water before April that's for sure. :D

Very Nice Wally.

Wally,
Can't wait to see how fast she'll run GPS. Looks great, but the tow vehicle doesn't match the boat's graphics. May have to call Kurt's Autobody to paint your truck.

Wally,
Congrats! Nice Ride.

Wally as you know I have a nice sub that will match I'll even throw in the wheels. If you would have bought that earlier you could have had the matching trailer wheels.

Re: My new PQ

Hey Wally....I already know how fast it'll run on GPS.... 69 MPH! :D But the speedo will read 75 mph....that's the speed you can tell your friends who don't know any better. I miss it already and it's not even spring. Enjoy the boat!

cbgenrl 12-15-2004 04:19 PM

Re: My new PQ

Venom, I was wondering what your tag was........

So let me see, if I gut the cuddy I should be able to 70???

I am really pleased with the boat........and I think I have my other one SOLD!!

Re: My new PQ

Venomous I've seen wally's new boat (your old one) and its is supper clean you had a very nice ride there. I am sure that we will drink a beer on standing on the cuddy, we may even have two beers. I hear that you will be going to a 38 in the future, I have to say its is a nice way to go, (just skip that 34).

Venomous 12-15-2004 07:39 PM

Re: My new PQ

Wally- If you gut the cabin you may even see 71 mph! That microwave weighs a ton you know! :D and if you're like me you will never use it. Fridge is nice though as it will keep your beverages nice and cold....may have to keep that! :drink:

PWRQWST- Clean boats sell faster! That Enitcer handled Lake Michigan pretty well so I can only imagine how well a 38 would ride.....sometime in the distant future.

Anyway both of you enjoy it and Wally I know you will take good care of her....

Its official! The vibrator (as it was affectionately called) is gone. Sold it this afternoon. This will be the last time you see her for the lake clinton folks.......

Anybody else feel like their dog died when they sold their first boat? I don't know whether to be over-joyed or depressed, but regardless, I will have a few cocktails in her honor tonight........

I Just Joined Offshore Only Today And Recognized Your Boat. I Drive A 29pq And I Remember Talking To You At Franky And Louies On Shootout Weekend. I Still Look Online At The Leftover 38pq That Raymonds Has But Charlene Is A Tough One. I Remember You Saying You Dealt With Her On That Boat But Had No Luck, We Also Tried And Had No Luck. But I Am Always Looking For That 38pq I Know It Will Come My Way Soon. Well Nice Talking To You Again, Its Funny I Have A Bad Memory But When It Comes To Awesome Boats I Always Remember.

I do remmber talking to you guys down there about your PQ and that you were looking for a 38, dont worry it will finally come one day I did not think it would happen for me but we got lucky and found the right boat at the right time.

Rich, you better refresh those motors this winter. I went to the LOTO this weekend and think I am going to do something a little different for engines. I PMed you. I wouldn't want to get too far ahead of you on a trip down to Dick's. Need to figure out the cost before I decide.

Wally,

I know what you mean about selling your first boat and your dog dieing. We traded our Donzi (Deckboat) and it was the boat that the kids grew up on. We had some really good times on her. I am sure that the new PQ will be just as much fun, it will just take a while to start supplementing the old good memories with newer ones.

Since it is 12 degrees here and I cannot boat, I should get to work. :(

Have a great Christmas everyone!

Dave

Re: My new PQ

PWRQWST, On the 29 ft PQ you owned, did you ever have to replace the gimbal rings. I am asking because i have to replace both of mine :( :( . The people i talked to say i need hydraulic steering. I had 2 PQ's before this one and i never had that problem (only one motor in those 2). If i have to get hydraulic steering i guess there's my reason to get the 38 :D :D my wife would be onboard for that purchase :D :D .

270 Laser, friend's of mine have a place on marco island, we take thier 34 proline out on the Gulf every time we go down there with them. We alway's talk about boating from marco to the keys, but we have not done it yet. Have you ever done that ride on your boat.

PWRQWST 12-22-2004 11:37 PM

Re: My new PQ

PWRQUEST no I never did have to change mine But I did have them checked and serviced (pulled both drives) every year. Boat was a 2000 with 265 hours on it when I traded. But if it is a reason to trade go for it. :D :D I will sell you mine.

Cbgenrl,
What motor's do you have in your 29 PQ? My 29 PQ is a 2001 with (2) 310's and the best I can get is 64.7 mph on gps. All the one's I have seen for sale there is not very many with 454 (385) hp or the 502's. I am not a BAJA person, but it seems like they put big horsepower in thier 29 footers.

Cbgenrl, Your 29 PQ is a very nice boat, me and my wife love those graphics, our 26 PQ had the same graphics.

Re: My new PQ

Thanks PWRQUEST! Well I can't really tell you much about the boat performance wise. I have had it out for all of 15 minutes before winterizing (just bought it). Venomous (his tag name) was the previous owner and says he has seen 69 on GPS. With all of the crap I have to carry having 2 boys under 5, I'll likely see the 65 that you do.

The only mods this boat has to my knowledge is the flame arrestors are larger then stock to let it breath better.....

cbgenrl 12-25-2004 04:37 PM

Re: My new PQ

By the way, the motors are just stock 454's, 300 horse I believe.

And there is some weird looking bottle under rear seat that says "Nitrous" ( NOT!)

Re: My new PQ

wally, I had a 29 for 10 years It was a 93 it was powerquests catalog boat. It had 454 mags, the fastest props were stock mirage 23 s. (72-73 mph) in salt water. Had to hang it though. They were great bay props. Mirage 25 s are about 2 mph slower but they really load up the motors. The best rough water/ocean props for your boat are Hydromotive 22s. You will lose about 2 mph on top end, but in the rough they really hook up, no blowout they were like wheelie bars on a funny car!!! I now own a 2003 340 vyper, it also was powerquests cataloge boat ( purple/green) w/ 496 mag ho s spinning a pair of bravo 1 30s at 5100 and 82mph (in salt) I know your boat pretty well feel free to e-mail me for any info once the weather breaks. Again good luck its a beauty. Kleenswept @aol

Kleen Sweep,
My Goodness, you definately get your use out of a boat :D :D.
I wish I would keep mine that long.
Them 340's really haul with twin 496's. How do you like having the closed cooling? A friend of mine has a 29 envision with a 496 (1) and he love's the easy winterizing.
