Re: Hello Central Illinois
Rich, I'm going to be forced to come back to Clinton to boat to get to know everyone again.
What ramp do you use - not sure I will be able to make the turn at the marina, but I guess I can back down from the road. |
Re: Hello Central Illinois
Now that would be a sight, a 43 and a 38 on that water... I did see an old 42 Baja out a few times last year.. Rich uses the marina ramp and somehow gets through the turn....
Mental, I keep my boat on Dock 3 (caddy corner to boody). I try to get down there every weekend and at least 1 week day, co-pilots are always welcome if I don't have the Fam with me! If I hussle, I can be on the water 40 minutes from Corporate South's parking lot. With how much warmer it seems to be in LOTO, I am starting to think about a late April trip down there if the weather coops... -Wally |
Re: Hello Central Illinois
John you definatly need to come back to Clinton. :evilb: :evilb:
Wally is correct the best ramp is the Marina, and they know have long trailer parking down on the lower parking lot (Thank God) You can probably make the swing, but you will just have to put the left tires up on the grass and follow it, you wont hurt anything doing it that way, I did it a couple of times. I can only make it by about 3 inches :p rainorshine is Scott and Hillary, you meet them lastyear I know, and I think maybe the year before, they own the 04 Dominator w/6.2s Wally was the man last year he was there boating like 76 times or something like that. Wally I'm with you a weekend in April at LOTO we can just stay on the boats. Leave on a Thursday night and come home on Sunday afternoon :drink: |
Re: Hello Central Illinois
Probably would be a good time for me to learn the water, can't be too busy in April?

Your decision on a cool call name is about as good your decision to buy that beautiful 32 Dominator. Really enjoyed your Christmas card. OSO is a great website and it is encouraging to know their are people out there just as obsessed with boating as we are (maybe even more). Congratulations, Rob |
Re: Hello Central Illinois
Hey Rob, thanks for the compliment on the boat. We still haven't decided on a name yet. Everytime I come up with something cool, Hills uses her veto powers!
|
Re: Hello Central Illinois
rainorshine - here is a web site with tons of names.
http://www.boatus.com/names/Anames.asp Right now I am thinking of "No Regrets" for the new Sunsation. Only because my boating friends keep talking me into more and more options, and keep saying "you may as well as get everything so you have no regrets." |
Re: Hello Central Illinois
John
I like No Regrets how true is that Wally how about Wallys World Scott you need Sun Dazed  |
Re: Hello Central Illinois
Rich, are you goiing up to Chicago for the boat show? I'm going Saturday. (2 weeks)
|
Re: Hello Central Illinois
I haved talked about it, but haven't made a decision yet. I'm thinking about just going up and back on Saturday, but if Friday works there is less people to fight, and that is always better. :D I need to see who is all going first.
|
Re: Hello Central Illinois
I'm just going up and back Saturday. We always stop at a Pizza place around Joliet on the way back. The Sunsation owner will be there. also Mitcher T, so maybe I will get a chance to start talking about paint.
|
Re: Hello Central Illinois
Are you thinking about something like the new Nordic on the cover of Powerboat or the cigs. Or what are you thinking about?

Haven't decided yet. I am going with reds and yellows. Here are some pics, don't pay attention to colors. 2 cigs and one Sunsation - the Innovator paint. Whatever I do will not be exactly the same, just trying to get ideas. Sun is first - then the cigs. I really like the scheme on the blue cig

Re: Hello Central Illinois
IF you ask me, all those paint jobs look awesome :D :D :D
I paint cars for a living, and when I see boats painted the way they are today it blows me away, I can't believe the talent they have. |
Re: Hello Central Illinois
Seems to me that you can turn it into a pretty lucrative business given the prices they tend to list for some of these paint jobs. Then again, those are usually the boat builders price which is likely way more that the paint shop got for doing it.
The other thing I did on my current boat it clear coat everything but the bottom. After experiencing that, I will do it on every boat I own. Makes caring for the glass much easier. And after 5 years it looks just as good as the first day. |
