Anybody know this boat?

1999 34 Powerquest w/ J&J sales in Ohio. It has been repowered w/ 500 efi's and only 40 hours, trailer. What would be a fair price? They haven't sent me pics yet.

Re: Anybody know this boat?

If you can try to deal direct w/ Dan Jenkins(owner), he will eliminate all the B.S. and make you a deal. They had a 04 38PQ w/ 525's for $185k at the detroit show, a pretty good deal. It was sitting next to a Cig topgun w/ same power that was $499k

Hey Jim, it was fun partying with you and Mary at the Riu. :drink: So what is the next boat? Did you get any rides?? I was lucky to score a ride on a sweet 49 Hustler EC with triple Yanmars and surface drives. Joe blasted it (with 10 aboard) up to 60 in the middle of Governers Cut at one point. Claims a top end of 70. Wow! Bill and Bob lucked into a ride on a 39 TG with 850's and went into triple digits on the GPS.

Our fav....the 43 Nortech. Only $400K.... :(

Re: Anybody know this boat?

Mack, nice to put a face on a name, enjoyed exchanging experiences with you and your wife. Sounds like you two scored a big one. We got out on a 38' Formula with twin 525"s. Very nice, real smooth and no wobble at the upper speeds. It ran in the upper 70's. Next year I have to get a ride on one of the triple digit rides.
Next boat will probably be a 38 PQ with lots of equipment, hp 500's or better and wild graphics. However Mary want's a 43' Black Thunder, OUCH Don't think the check book can Handel that one.
Came home to 6" of snow on the driveway and it was still snowing. Today it's all the way up to 30. Counting the days till splash down :evilb:
Any one else in your group making a change?

Sounds like you guys had a good time at the show :D
Me and my wife are planning on going next year :drink:
We have never been before, what do you have to do to get a ride on a boat at the show?

PerformanceMary,
Tom is new to the board so I am helping him out. He is approved and looking to pick that boat up next weekend. Call him and tell him about your boat. He might like it better. What year is yours?

Thanks,
Mat

While I was at the St Louis show yesturday I was talking to BlackThunder and they mentioned that they had traded for a 2002 38 PQ with 575sc, with ac and on a trailer, and were looking to sell it. It might be something you are looking for and they also stated that they would take a trade for it if you needed. :D
Good luck on your new boat "quest" Rich.

Thanks for the tip. That PQ sounds like what I am looking for. I assume you were talking to a rep from the Black Thunder factory, I will call them tomarrow.

Thanks for the number, I will give Tom a call. Based on what I saw in the Boat Trader add I think Tom would see more value in my 34. It's also a 1999 but has brighter colors with the deck graphics, the McLead electric bolsters, a GPS speedo and a better cabin in that it is equipped with fresh water. The boat has 320 hours on it, the motors were done last winter and only have 60 hrs. Attached is another Pic.
Thanks again. :D :D :D

Re: Anybody know this boat?

Rich, did you find anything new to buy in St Louis. I bought a new lift, then Colette and I went down to LOTO. I ended up signing the dotted line for some new property in LOTO. New development, will be done around December. The slip I got is 18x48. Guess I can go to a cruiser now. I had to call PolyLift this morning and change my order. The dock is supposed to be put in in April so I can put the lift in a bit after that. Now I just need to get the townhouse done so I have a place to sleep.

Not really, that F4 will have air, fridge, Microwave, DVD and a flat screen and a genny, so I guess I will be sleeping in it if I have to later this summer.

Not really, I did like the fact that there was a 38 PQ. I was able to talk to the rep a little about PQ and the new 38 Poker Run boat. The boat I really liked was the 46 Thunder done in the Monopoly them, that was cool :D Had a good time all day, and then went out that night had had a really good time :drink: :drink:

Where did you buy?

Re: Anybody know this boat?

Country Club estates. 4MM, about a mile deep in the cove, which is all the ay down the cove. It butts up to the golf course at 4 seasons. They just started diggin the hole so it won't be done until next winter. It is the SLOOOOOZARKS. :D :D

Good thing is the dock gets put in this spring so at least I will have a place to put the boat when it comes.

That Black Thunder had to look awesome :D

Did you sell the condo already? It seems like everything you buy you have to wait a good long time for it. :D :D

Calvin
The Poker run is being built but they are still working out some small items such as moving the cockpit forward just a little for the six bolster set up and possable stager configuration. As for the motor option he also stated that they have been talking to ILMOR about there set ups. :D It will be interesting to see that is for sure

Haven't decided what to do with the condo yet, so we have not put it up for sale yet.

Actually if they get the new place done in 9 months that is record setting for down there. Terry's place took over a year. I know others that waited 15-18 months to get their houses done. 4 seasons owns all their own crews so they can schedule things a bit better than a general contractor waiting on indipendent sub contractors.

I'm pretty much blowing off this summer. But It will be filled with trips to check on the progress of the boat and house. I will likely boat with Sheary a lot, he bought a new Chaparral last month. I figure they ought to have molds for the F4 in April (I hope). Then it won't be long before they get the boat started.

Re: Anybody know this boat?

performancemary is right ....it is nice to put a face to a name.......BUT there is not enough time in a day when in Miami. We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Collins Ave and it was great, the weather was great. First time we stayed in Miami Beach.......being from Ft Lauderdale for years, my folks lived there, so I always stayed with them. Sure am glad to stay in Miami Beach, didn't have to contend with the ****ty traffic.
Just wished I could have met more people and more faces

J&J used to be a Powerquest dealer.....looks like they are getting rid of old stock. They now carry Cigs and Fountains. When at the Cleveland boat show they seemed very stuffed shirt and snotty

John, don't blow off the summer just yet! Rich can always use a Gilligan. We are all hoping you get your F4 in time to get some seat time, and put some hours on it before winter.

I am hoping for the same thing. David called last wdeek and talked about a Sunsation rally at LOTO in Sept. I know they would want the F4 there. I'm hoping it sees water at the rally in late July, but I doubt it will be completely finished. Next deadline is the shootout, I hope it makes it there.
