just wondering how the cats hold up? any one running these on the great lakes?or coastal areas? i've heard of some people being unhappy with there profiles, but haven't heard any negatives about the cats. bought one last fall with low hours, didn't know if i should try to sell it if i get the chance. just looking for some info!

I've had mine for 4 years now, never been in the great lakes but spend lots of time at lake powell utah, when the wind and storms come in you will get waves from 3 to 6 foot, It seems to do a great job, I have no complants about it. Run the boat I think you will like it. what are you running for power and drive set-up?

I run mine in Lake Michigan 90% of the time. I have no issues with mine and I run the heck out of it. I have twin 300 promax outboards.
I have heard a lot of negatives about the profiles, but it always seems to be with the V's. I think they did a pretty good job with their cats.

I have had my 28 for six years ,had great luck, rides great and have some pretty stout power to bad the new owner was such a bandit and went belly up. Good news the general manager of the company I heard may be going off on his own I talked to him several times about set up and construction of the hull. He is a real nice guy and very knowledgable on hull construction. Hope he gives it a try his name is Jim

No problem I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true. Lets get cracken on that new rocket you are designing , can't wait to part what little hair I have left. It should be really cool !!!

here's a question for you, how much HP and speed can this 28 handle, I'm in the process of building a 1100- 1200 HP engine, it only runs at 3600 ft elev. am I going to far?

I'm running a Imco SC Extreme with a 12" stand off with a 3" rise with 1.34 gears, I know I will have to go easy out of the hole, but hoping it holds up otherwise, it's used for cruising mostly, but every now and then someone needs there attitude adjusted. there is a nordic thor down here that needs a tune up. But you never said how fast it runs, what is your drive set-up, how deep or shallow is your drive set up.
Thanks
Larry

My drive unit is built by American Propulsion and is called a Sternpower very heavy duty unit right now I am running a 1.30 gear ration about an inch above the bottom I have run 2 inches above. I have been expermenting with height and gear rations . I am going to drop the boat in the water around May 10 This unit is almost out of the proto type stage and will be for sale soon. I have been helping the factory and they have really been helping me !! My boat runs in the 110 range but I'm sure with the drive changes we have made that number will be low looking for somthing in the 115 to120 range, one can only hope. I am running a Bam trans also. You have a good lower but with the massive power you are planning I don't think it is going to last. My brother is a dealer for Imco so we talk to them a little and they think I had to much power for that imco lower and I think yours will have more . No problem with hull strengh but you mus t run that missle with a good head on your shoulders any hull will break if it misused enough.
p.s. extention box was a good idea

Thanks for your input, you can never get enough info on this stuff, It should be seeing water in about 10 days, so we will have to see how it runs, good luck with yours and I'm going to lock into the sternpower drives, I've never heard of them.
Thanks again
Larry
